investigators in greenville are trying to figure out whether or not ice caused a crash that killed a jogger. highway 14 near stonebrook farm the coroner says 44-year-old andrew van evera was jogging when he got hit. geoff: the oconee county coroner a helmet died after a collision troopers say it happened on west cherry road at high point boulevard near seneca. they say an suv pulled out in front of the motorcycle. the 56-year-old seneca man was flown to greenville memorial where he later died. a live look now from the south carolina dot camera along interstate 85 in spartanburgcounty. this is near chesnee highway. not many wrecks to report this morning but u.s. 276 is closed north of highway 280 in brevard because of snow and ice and they hope to have an open later this week. myra: nice to talk about the

priority right now is cl roads. it is the secondary roads that are still problematic. some of them have not been touched. that combined with frigid temps have caused area schools to close. also, the federal government is shut down with the house postponing votes in congress until next week. other parts of the country are starting to get back on track. in new york, train service will his resuming for the morning commute. in pennsylvania, a lot of folks stuck on the turnpike are finally free and bac one thing that's not back to normal yet is air travel. hundreds of flights are already canceled today, but the good news is that airports here in d.c. are re-opening this morning. hopefully that should ease some of the backlog that many travelers are experiencing. myra: we know this was a deadly storm.

hope to have it construction crews are closing the southbound lane of business 85 in spartanburg for at least six days. that starts this morning. and the weather cooperates, dot officials say business 85 should reopen sunday night. there will be a detour in the area until then. geoff: as we cover the nation for you aftershocks may be felt , for the next several weeks after a powerful earthquake alaska. the 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck about 160 miles of anchorage. some 5,000 people lost power, but no reports of injuries. meanwhile, fire officials have condemned property of a bowling alley in virginia until the owner decides whether or not he will rebuild. heavy snowfall from this weekend's historic blizzard buckled the roof thi forecasters say about 22 inches blanketed the area. no one was hurt. the owner says he does have insurance on the alley and appreciates the outpou community support. myra: let's turn to 2016 now.
