murder. a 15-year-old was also locked up with them. police say another teen was killed during the shootout, and two others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. wyff news 4's corey davis has more, on where police say the suspects ditched their weapons. corey: here's a look at william newton and trevonte watts, in court sunday. you can see watts there, with his arm in a sling. police say he was shot in the elbow saturday, in the parking lot of bojangles, on east butler road in mauldin. investigators say a 15-year-old girl was with the two 19-year-olds that night. police say the teens were there for a drug deal, but it led to an armed robbery, which turned into a shootout. >> the victims that were shot and robbed, initially did shoot back. corey: sergeant benjamin ford says 19-year-old savon allen was in the group that shot back. allen died after he was shot in the head. the person he was with was injured, but survived. ford says the three suspects

shooting, and left the scene. he said after that, they got rid of their guns. >> we recovered two weapons, both that were used by the suspects that were attempting the robbery. we also have the weapon recovered that the victims used to fight back. corey: ford says one of the suspects told them where to find the guns. he says the teens hid the weapons in someone's yard in the southern part of greenville county, and the homeowner had no clue the guns were there. >> those are stolen weapons that we recovered. corey: ford says a shooting like this is uncommon in mauldin, and he says the community should not worry. >> we don't see very much of that here, especially on that end of town, and with that restaurant. we've had nothing but good things occur out in that area. corey: ford says more people could be arrested in this case. corey davis, wyff news 4, in greenville county. mike: police aren't getting specific about the money and drugs involved in the incident, but police did charge william newton with possession of marijuana.

and new information about a shooting that killed a teenager. investigators now say the teen died from a self-inflicted gunshot. the corones office says the 17-year-old shot himself in the head. deputies say they responded to a call of a shooting victim at a store near the teen's home. deputies say when they got to the home on old willamston road, a teen ran from a car, and went inside the home. deputies say that's when the teen turned the gun on himself. investigators in taylors are trying to fifi the person who stabbed a man to death. the coroner says 42-year-old jamie howard died after he was stabbed in the chest. investigators say a hunter found his body in a field on friday. right now, investigators are trying to figure out whether howard was stabbed where he was found, on burrell road in taylors, or if it happened at another location. call crimestoppers at 23-crime if you have any information. a man pleaded guilty to two robberies in western north carolina. 43-year-old michael benoy will spend at least seven years in prison.

an attempt to rob the walmart in weaverville, in january of 2015. the day before that incident, he robbed the bank of america on hendersonville road in asheville. benoy pleaded guilty to several charges connected to those robberies, including two counts of attaining the status of habitual felon. now for a quick look at your weather, as we take a look outside with our woodruff road skycam. a pretty nice weekend across the area, but colder weather is on the way. wyff news 4 meteorologiss justus joins us. chris, when will the rain started? whittlesey isolated showers tomorrow. the heaviest rain arrives tuesday. the warm weather ifor a little while. in the 50's area-wide. this is a typical or this time of year. we should be in the 30's. temperatures will fall if you degrees overnight, but not much with clouds over us right now.

when you wake up, ththe super doppler is dry right now. the big concern headed into this week is the severe threat. the greatest threat west of here. this is tuesday. the areas in the yellow have a risk of severe weather. the areas in the brown henhanced risk, including tornadoes. that goes thnashville, mississippi, eastern arkansas. that will be what we will watch. that system begins to head our way as we approach wednesday. we will see a rumble or two of thunder, as well. i will detail the severe risk in a few minutes.mike: tomorrow night is the island caucuses, polling closed, and bad weather hampered turnout. steve handelsman is in des moines. steve: with a snowstorm

fire with those brightly-colored versace pants today. you see them right there. zebra print on them. newton and the team arrived at san jose i, ahead of super bowl 50. the panthers play the denver broncos next sunday in the nfl title game, at levi's stadium in santa clara. a lot has to be done to get levi's stadium, and the surrounding areas, ready for super bowl 50. signs of the carolina panthers and denver broncos have taken over the regular home of the san francisco 49ers. crews are also making room outside the stadium, so fans can party before the big game. wyff news 4 is following the panthers to super bowl 50. starting monday, brad fralick and marc dopher will be covering the team live from santa clara. our geoff hart will join them on thursday. then, on friday, we'll preview the big game. our sports team will bring you "chasing a championship," live from california. wyff 4 at 8:00 p.m. next friday, february 5th.

18-year-old david eisenhauer was already behind bars, facing charges of abduction and murder. so far, police in denver, colorado, have not made any arrests following a fight that killed one person and hurt seven others at a motorcycle show. police say the fight between members of rival biker clubs on saturday led to a shooting and a stabbing. attorneys for the clubs are blaming each other for starting the fight. an attorney now says a colorado department of corrections officer fired his gun in self-defense during the ordeal. it's unclear whether or not the officer's gunfire hit anyone. today, deputies say they took two inmates back to orange county, california, days after the pair escaped. the sheriff's office released new video of the inmates, who, according to deputies, were on the run for more than a week. investigators say a woman alerted officials, after seeing the inmates in a van that was reported stolen. officials say they've already tightened security at the jail following the inmates's' escape. a fisherman in maine is being credited with saving the lives

fire while they were trying to catch lobsters. the men on the burning boat had just enough time to send out a distress call before flames engulfed their boat. the fisherman was three miles away when he heard that call, but he managed to get there just in time. the men on the burning boat got onto the fisherman's boat just before theirs went down. donations could help a retired police officer in ohio keep his k-9 partner. according to the law in ohio, if an officer retires before the k-9, he or she forfeits their right to purchase the dog. since the officer retired, and the dog, named "ajax," is still considered a healthy police dog, the k-9 must be put up for auction, because he is considered, quote, "valuable city property." the retired officer's friend started a go-fund-me page to help him buy the dog at auction. ajax was appraised at $3500, but

south of there, there will be warmer conditions. front, i-40 and north, a bit cooler. 50's versus 60's. not a big deal. through the day on tuesday, since the front hangs around, it will be a focus for some showers across the area. a better chance of more widespread showers tuesday afhere is the focus of attention headed into tuesday. this is a very strong colheading through. with very warm, unstable air in portions of alabama, mississippi, and tennessee, we way. even a few isolated tornadoes. hot spot. as the front gets closer to us, it weakens, but it is still strong, so we could have gusty winds wednesday morning along with torrential downpours and a thunder. it moves out quickly. by lunchtime, the heaviest rain back out.
