here's a look at the renderings. it's a 130,000 square foot facility. >> it's a validation of the area as a potential location for commercial, and even industrial kinds of activities. it also is a significant investment in an area that desperately needs the momentum that this will help build. gabrielle: mark farris, the president and ceo of greenville area development corporation, says greenco wants to be part of the revitalization of this area. it's known as the poinsett corridor, and is a major gateway entrance into greenville from northern greenville county and western north carolina. but right now, there are many vacant buildings along this stretch. >> we're very happy about that, because we feel like we've been long ignored over here. gabrielle: staci bryant's shop, expressions unlimited, has been on poinsett highway for 22 years. she's excited for more people to see this neighborhood's potential. >> whether we build new things or revitalize old things that we have, there's a great work force here, and that's a community that's

or police, really wish you would use. gabrielle: it could be a life-saver, and nbc's chris clackum has details. chris: most of us use the lock screens on phones to keep out the bad guys. but what if it's the good guys, who need vital information to save your life? >> we're the first ones there, so from a medical standpoint, it's vital. chris: turns out that information can be easily accessed on your smartphone. on iphones, it's right there in the bottom left-hand corner of the locked screen, the word "emergency." tap on it, and a keypad pops up for a quick call to, say, 911. or, if you're unconscious, someone else, like a paramedic, can tap on "medical id" below the keypad, and up pops info on yourself that could prove crucial. it's a standard app on iphones, where you input whatever info you deem important, like your name, the person to call in case of emergency, your height, weight, and most importantly, medical conditions.

nigel: today marks 13 years since the deadly explosion of space shuttle columbia. the shuttl re-entry on february 1st, 2003. six american astronauts, and one israeli astronaut, were killed. they were re from a 16-day science mission.

shuttles were grounded for more than two years following the tragedy. a special investigative board later said the fatal damage was caused 82 seconds after liftoff. that's when insulating foam from the external fuel tank hit the left wing. gabrielle: a car thief fleeing police causes a deadly accident in atlanta. an elderly woman and two children were killed. police in nearby college park were chasing a man in a stolen suv yesterday. then, he crossed into atlanta. the driver ran a stop sign in a residential neighborhood. they then hit a car carrying a 75-year-old woman, her 12-year-old grandson, and a 6-year-old girl. police are still looking for the drnigel: a fiery glow lights up the early morning sky over los angeles this morning. this massive fire engulfed an industrial building, and sent dozens of firefighters to the scene. propane cylinders and combustible storage items fueled the flames of this fire, sending thick black smoke over a business area.

injuries.gabrielle: must-see video for you here. a ma off his board off the coast of maui. then, it swallows him whole. he later described it as a sea monster rising out of the ocean. amazingly, he came away with only a stiff neck and a broken board, and was out surfing again the next day. this happened in hawaii, by the wa recovering this afternoon, after a large oak tree limb fell on a truck during a mardi gras parade. new orleans police say six people, including a child, were injured, but are expected to be okay. the limb fell on the opposite side of the street from where the krewes of oshun and cleopatra parade floats were going by. city employees managed to clear the wrecked truck and tree quickly saturday night, allowing the party to go on. adele says she doesn't want donald trump to use her music any more. this announcement came today from an adele spokesperson. they told cnn adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaign.

this is wyff news 4 at 6:00 in high definition. >> there are guns on the streets out there. even 19-year-olds can get those guns. carol: police are trying to figure out where the guns came from, in a weekend shooting that killed a 19-year-old. michael: drug activity and stolen guns are the focus of an ongoing investigation into the shooting death of a teenager. carol: police say there's also a chance they'll find more suspects wyff news 4's myra ruiz is live and local in greenville. myra? myra: we're outside the greenville county detention center, where three teenage murder suspects were taken over the weekend, in the shooting death of 19-year-old savon allen. mauldin police say the shooting death of savon allen serves as a warning to all young people. >> if you get involved in drug activity, and get involved in robberies, and things like that, be aware that you could end up hurt or killed, like this individual did. myra: allen died in a shootout saturday night, in the parking lot of this bojangles on butler road.
