first, let's check in with weather. dale: a good bit of cloud cover overnight with a few flurries of snow is the colder started to blow in. it has stops now. 27 in boone. it is chilly in the mountains. low to mid 30's across the upstate and piedmont. it feels colder as the breeze blows. 26 mile wind in hendersonville, 20 in nashville and makes the mountain temperatures feel like single digits and the upstate feels like upper 20's with the breeze blowing early. grab a warm coat. it will need it. prpripitation rise, mostly sunny for the afternoon and 49 may be the best to get up to in the upstate today in the mountains will struggle to get into 40. it does get better over the weekend. we will talk about that in a few minutes. allyson: thank you. happening today, a groundbreaking for the 385 and

patrick: aly myles joins us to tell us more. aly: good morning. you can see the 85-380 five interchange behind me. today is expected to be the kickoff of the gateway project. there will be a groundbreaking that noon on woodruff road and it is expected to be the second-largest road project in scdot history. after the groundbreaking, construction is expected to get the full swing. the project involves creating a new interchange with lanes, ramps, bridges and while maintaining traffic. the widening of 385 will continue and there will be improvements to roper mountain road, woodruff road and other surrounding segues. officials are expected to hold the groundbreaking on woodruff road at noon today. the cost of the project is $231 million.

greenville. patrick: thank you. the excitement continues to 50. is geoff hart. allyson: he joins us live this morning from santa, clara -- from santa clara, california. through the roof this year. geoff: good morning. ticket to super bowl 50? a lot of folks with deep pockets would cross off a good bit of money. according to usa this morning, tickets were bought on my for $27,000 for two of them. with more on the ticket madness, here is brad fralick and marc dopher. brad: the super bowl is a very expensive event, but this may be the most expensive u.s. sporting event in history. marc: the highest price ticket

at this super bowl is pushing $250,000. we looked up tickets on places like stub hub and you can get a cheap ticket in the nosebleed section for about $2900, but if you want to sit lower, he would looking at $10,000 for $12,000. brad: the average price right now is just shy of $5,000. marc: that's all? brad: historically expensive and the players are offered 15 tickets, not for free, but to buy. trey boston told me he had to purchase 15 tickets at $1800 apiece, and necklace for everybody in the family. it does not mean if you are 40 or seven months old, you have to buy a ticket that is $1800 or baby not even 18 months old. historically expensive super bowl 50. what else would you expect in san francisco?

these are wind advisories affecting parts of north carolina, emc, mitchell, avery, mcdonald and up to the tennessee border with high wind expected. we saw prairies of snow in the upstate and mountains overnight. you can see some of those flurries that occurred with cold air blowing in and clouds are being cleared out now. mostly sunny afternoon to enjoy. temperatures will not get as warm as yesterday. it reached into the upper 50's yesterday. upper 40's will be about the best we see today. 31 in toccoa. livonia at 31, hartwell at 35, dillard at 32, so a cold beginning and in the mountains, 20's feel much colder with 20 to 25 mile-per-hour wind. the us like 10 in hendersonville and five in boone. dress warmly if you will be working outdoors, especially in

hartwell skycam. beautiful and clear skies. 30 four degrees. colder in the mountains of north carolina where it is in the 20's this morning. high wind advisories outpour along the tennessee-north carolina border with 20 to 30 mile-per-hour gusts of wind. the past six hours, you can see flurries of snow that occurred in parts of the upstate and mountains and that is traveling to the east in the eastern part of north carolina. 27 in asheville, 30 five in greenwood, so cold across the area and wind make it feels colder -- wind makes it feel colder. could felix eagle digits at times in the mountains and upper 20's in the upstate. dress warmly. nice weekend, low 50's tomorrow with light breezes and 40's in the mountains. back to normal on sunday. monday morning we could see flurries of snow once again.

updates early monday should wintry weather. patrick: thank you. outages to report. within 6000 outages across the carolinas. posted north carolina in the charlotte area with nearly 5000 with no power. henderson county around 200. in south carolina, nearly 130 people with no power at this time. duke energy estimates most power outages will be back on before 9:00 a.m. allyson: taking a look at the roads, a couple of accidents for you to watch out for. on southport road and highway 176, still clearing one. in dalton, one happening at lewis drive. also, a tree in the road on landrum at jamison mill road. travel times on the interstate looking pretty good. traffic is picking up.

and marco rubio, dr. ben carson, former governor jeb bush, and governors chris christie and john kasich will all be there. carly fiorina and former governor jim gilmore did not meet the criteria for this debate. you can watch the debate at 7:30 p.m. with congressman trey gowdy who will be at the nosehat astro club in greenville. in greenville county, a close call for a seven-year-old. she was run over after she fell off the foot of the car. they say it happened off of anderson bridge road just after 6:30 last night and she was taken to greenville memorial hospital and her condition is unknown at this time. allyson: lawmakers may change the way law enforcement handles dash cam video. they would need a judge's approval to withhold dash cam footage from the public for more than 15 days. senator larry martin says that
