bit of snow in cherokee county and graham county and swing county -- swain county. the areas in pink are under a winter storm warning through thursday. it will come down tonight continuing through tuesday, wednesday. asheville will see a little bit of snow. so will southern jackson county and macon county, but it will be the higher elevations in north carolina that will bear the brunt of this particular storm. there will be more closings and delays the next couple of mornings. 20's this morning in the mountains will climb to the low 40's. the upstate will climb to the upper 40's for the afternoon today. that is what is going on early. we will have more on this upcoming winter weather event throughout the morning. allyson: thank you. patrick: peyton manning with a big broncos victory yesterday but it was defense, defense, and more defense, in the panthers cannot overcome. allyson: they still have a season to be proud of. geoff hart joins us live this morning from levi's stadium the morning after.

for carolina panthers fans, watching super bowl 50 was frankly excruciating. you thought time and time again they were going to get it together but it just, never happened. here is brad fralick. it certainly did not finish how the carolina panthers wanted it to. an opportunity to bring home the franchise's first ever super bowl championship, but it was not to be. cam newton and the carolina panthers in santa clara facing peyton manning and the denver broncos. possibly manning's last career football game, but the denver defense showed up early. von miller was an absolute man. malik jackson recover the fumble von miller forcing the fumble there. he was named most valuable jonathan stewart got the panthers in the end zone, leaping in the end zone.

allyson: greenville county deputies are looking for the person who shot a man down this this weekend. deputies were called saturday night to an apartment complex on edwards road in taylors. investigators say they found a man shot in the leg. 23-year-old anquan gambrell died later at a hospital. patrick: the search continues for adriel garnett in connection with a deadly shooting in woodruff. police say the shooting happened early saturday morning. they say garnett may be headed to the charleston area. allyson: greenville county deputies are investigating a shooting that happened at 2:00 a.m. in a club.

like many carolina panthers head this morning. was that a carolina panthers touchdown after scoring a combined 80 points in their two in arizona? it was a shocking, stunning loss to the denver broncos. marc dopher with reaction. marc: the panthers second ever trip to the super bowl and is like the first one with a loss. the denver broncos go home of the lombardi trophy. the panthers are left to wonder what could have been up to best season in franchise history. >> obviously, we played 17, 18, 19 games before this. we picked a bad day to have a meltdown. when we were on, we were moving the ball. we had things going. we had a couple of big plays that sparked us.

dale: good morning. that time is 6:20. let's take a look at our various skycams. cold conditions as we look from gives field -- gibbs field, wofford college. it is the mountains of north carolina that are starting to see some snow. some flurries in northern macon county. swain county will get a little action also. it is the counties along the tennessee-north carolina border highlighted d purple or pink on your television screen all under the winter storm warning. that just means there will be enough snow piling up over the next couple of days to make for very slick driving. and will pile up later this afternoon. tonight, it will be treacherous driving.

patrick: a lot of super bowl coverage this morning, but we have college basketball to get. the clemson tigers looking to bounce back from a road loss this weekend to virginia. the men jump into action at 9:00 tonight, hosting notre dame at the well. the tigers have never beaten the irish on the hardwood. meanwhile, the gamecock women will play in front of a sold out columbia crowd at 7:00 tonight . it is the biggest game of the regular season. number one versus number two, usc and uconn. the last two undefeated team's in division i women's basketball. tiffany mitchell, who was injured in the team's last game, says she'll be ready to go tonight. tonight's big game for the women comes after the men picked up their first road win over a top 10 team in almost 10 years. the gamecocks beat eighth-ranked texas a&m saturday. usc next hosts first place lsu at 7:00 wednesday night. allyson: a live look right now from bank of america stadium in charlotte.

look at the counties under winter storm warning highlighted in pink. we have already heard from swain, mitchell, and avery decided to close today. we will see anywhere from 2-6 plus inches of snow between now and wednesday night along the spine of the tennessee-north carolina border. a pretty good blast from tennessee will hit the mountains and change to snow. that will be the story. be careful if you are traveling across the tennessee border tonight through the next couple of days. there will be more closings and delays tomorrow and possibly wednesday also. we will have that information first thing.cold air will be the story . today will be the warmest day of the week. 30's this morning in the upstate to upper 40's. the mountains will top 40 in many places but tomorrow, it was they in the 30's for the upstate and mountains. whenever falls tonight through
