event starts at 7:00. it's free to attend, but you will need to reserve a ticket online to get in. trump will also hold another rally in greenville. that is coming up next monday at the t.d. convention center. carol: marco rubio will also return to the palmetto state tomorrow. he's holding a rally in spartanburg, then heading to columbia. rubio was going to end his day in north charleston, but will instead be heading back to washington for senate business. in his place, south carolina congressman trey gowdy will attend the town hall in north charleston. it's taking place at the north charleston coliseum montague terrace. and today we learned rubio will also be here on sunday, february 14th, for a town hall meeting. it's taking place at easley high school, at 1:30 pm. michael: senator ted cruz will also hold a campaign event in the upstate. the senator himself will not be there. according to his campaign, he has been called back to the senate for a vote, but the rally is still going on without him. his wife mrs. cruz will be there. the rally is taking place at summit pointe in spartanburg. it starts at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow.

event in rock hill. it's called the carolina values summit. cruz and dr. ben carson are expected to speak. it's taking place this coming thursday, between 6:00 and 9:00 at winthrop university. as part of the summit, the candidates will talk about the key issues facing urban america. michael: former governor jeb this week. bush will host a meet-and-greet at mama penn's restaurant on friday. that's on north main street in anderson. that will start at 11:15 in the morning. carol: also ststping by the upstate, jim gilmore. the former governor of virginia will drop by the beacon in spartanburg tomorrow. he'll be there at 1:00 p.m. it's part of a 2-day tour in south carolina. michael: this coming saturday , the latest gop debate will focus a lot of attention on greenville. the final showdown before the republican south carolina primary election on february 20th. the debate will happen at the greenville. the debate starts at 9:00 p.m. carol: a heads-up as you travel this weekend, because of the debate, the city of greenville has closed some roads. as you can see in this map, they are the red lines. broad street from river to main

her down. but they didn't realize her euthanasia was unsuccessful until the owner saw the dog on the news. officials have decided there would be no criminal charges. amara is currently at boxer butts and other mutts. they are a nonprofit rescue in western north carolina. carol: the widow of state senator clementa pinckney delivered a heartfelt message. it was part of an event called "reflections on charleston." it took place at duke university. jennifer pinckney talked about what life has been like since that fatal day. her husband, as you may recall, was killed during the charleston shooting, back in june of 2015. she, along with two other church pastors, talked about race, and gun control, and forgiveness. >> clemanta ininted a stranger in. you know, he didn't see color, and even though this violent act happened, i think we all have to put god first. carol: dylann roof stands

in asheville, bitterly cold. relief workers are working hard to help the homeless. carol: wyff news 4's john lyon spent this evening going out with those trying to provide comfort and shelter for the "overnighters." >> and 4 people were sleeping on the cardboard. john: randy gamble and jerry higgs spent this evening scouring ashville, checking benches and highway underpasses, looking for those with no warm place to stay, >> it's actually a sleeping bag, if you all want to zip it open. john: helping those they could, >> we got a blanket and sleeping bag, so i'm just hoping to god we'll get into somewhere. shouldn't nobody be outside tonight. john: and taking others to the asheville-buncombe community christian ministry shelter. on nights like this, abccm uses two vans, making multiple sweeps around the city, trying to get everybody inside. >> we've seen them freeze to death in abandoned buildings and underpasses. we're committed that no one has to freeze to death. john: the ministry provides meals and a warm place to sleep

the overnighters, who come in on a night like tonight, when temperatures are expected to feel like zero and below. >> this place is awesome, to open their arms and doors. they feed you and take you in, and keep you warm. and the next day, you are out, and you go back and do euro thing. -- do your own thing. john: the facility can sleep about 40, and will fill up tonight, along with others in asheville. but nobody will be turned away. >> we talk to each other every night. if one group fills up, and needs us to pick them up from their place for overflow, we will take them. >> i've looked. there wasn't nobody in there. john: so gamble and higgs hit the cold streets, checking the usual spots, bringing the overnighters in from the cold. john lyon, wyff news 4, asheville. michael: you can see the flurries there. a snowing night in the mountains. the wintry weather forced school closings in western north carolina. more than a dozen schools either had a late start today, or were closed.

mountains. they had snow flurries as far south as atlanta. the wind -- the winter weather advisory goes until 10:00 tomorrow morning. the wind chill advisory goes overnight. in the north georgia mountains, it goes through 10:00 thursday morning. in western north solana, wind chills will be 02 -- zero to -15. it will be reissued at 7:00 tomorrow evening and go until noon thursday. dangerously cold in the mountains of the upstate. with the northwesterly flow, we are looking at snorri -- flurries and snow showers. in the upstate, scattered flurries and snow showers did not amount to much. mainly snow in the mountains. most of the snow is tapering off. still, in the mountains, a few snow showers possible.

upstate and northeastern georgia . for the most part, most snow is becoming more of a northwesterly flow, so it is backed up against the tennessee line into east tennessee, it is snowing in knoxville. the storm reports, over the last 24 hours, the heaviest snow was eight inches on top of mount mitchell. seven inches of snow in maggie valley northwest of waynesville. in medicine -- madison county, six inches in marshall. in live shot from on top of the peace center, partly to mostly cloudy skies. 29 in greenville, 29 in anderson, 28 in toccoa, 21 in asheville, and take thth winds, northwest at 13-60 miles per hour, sustained at 29 miles per hour at -- in boone. that gives us a windchill of negative five in boone, seven in hendersonville, nine in asheville, 16 in toccoa, 19 in anderson.
