had just a fale or two, but the windy conditions will stick with us today. winchell advisories continue, north carolina. -- wind chill advisories continue, especially for the mountains and north carolina. watch out for slick roads spots on secondary roads. whatever has fallen in the past couple days will hang around with this cold temperatures. it is 24 degrees in greenville . if you factor in the wind, we are seeing some eight mile per hour winds in the area. anderson in greenville feel like 14-15 degrees. make sure your kids are dressed warmly. temperatures will struggle to reach the upper 30's in the upstate. and in the mountains, the high

vermont senator bernie sanders was declared the winner of the new hampshire democratic primary. he had polled strongly in new hampshire over hillary clinton with nearly 267 precincts reporting. sanders has 89%. clinton, 38%. >> we want to thank the people of new hampshire. do we love the people of new hampshire? you know, i said it and i said it a year ago. i said, i think i'm going to do well there because i am here a lot and it is so beautiful. i love it so much and i love the people. >> we will need to come together in a few months and unite this party and this nation because the right wing republicans we oppose must not be allowed to gain the presidency. allyson: with new hampshire in the books, the focus turns fully to south carolina. the first-in-the-south primary

he will instead be heading back to washington for senate business. in his plays, south carolina congressman trey gowdy will attend the town hall in north charleston. it's taking place at the north charleston coliseum montague terrace. allyson: senator ted cruz's campaign will hold a rally at summit pointe in spartanburg. however senator cruz will not be there. according to his campaign, he has been called back to the senate for a vote, but his wife heidi will be there. it starts at 5:00 this afternoon. ted cruz's next south carolina appearance will be tomorrow in rock hill. the event is called "the carolina values summit." cruz and dr.ben carson are expected to speak. it's taking place tomorrow between 6:00 and 9:00 at winthrop university. former governor jeb bush will also return to the upstate this week. he will be in the upstate this week. bush will host a meet and greet at mama penn's restaurant. that's on north main street in anderson. it starts at 11:15 in the

our four day plus forecast shows tomorrow. we could have an isolated flurry in the mountains on friday. we have no problems or the weekend, other than cold. coldest day. on monday there is a 40% chance of a rain and snow mix. it will start out as snow and then change over to rain. not a big storm, but we are still in winter. allyson: a former greenville county deputy will avoid prison time after pleading guilty to misconduct in office. david hayes was accused of taking bribes in exchange for tipping off an illegal gambling operator about upcoming raids by law enforcement. hayes pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. the judge sentenced him to time-served. in exchange, prosecutors dropped a felony charge of misconduct in office. >> i would call it just making

he got into financial pressure. he made the wrong decisions. he got into bed with the wrong people. allyson: both hays and former deputy shea smith were fired in july 2014 after an fbi investigation. smith pleaded guilty in december. he was put on probation and banned from law enforcement. a hearing is scheduled this morning in of the zach hammond case. he was shot and killed in july by a seneca police officer. this happened in a hearty parking lot -- in a party's parking lot in an undercover drug sting. geoff: greenville county deputies say a burglary led to three school lockdowns. they have three people in custody. thomas kerns elementary and the m.t. anderson support center along with southside high school were on lockdown. deputies say the search started after a burglary at a home on oak hill drive. investigators say four people

out of the vehicle ran away. deputies caught up with those three, but the driver got away. allyson: in anderson county, deputies say the owner of a dog found shot and emaciated will not face charges. you may recall two-year-old boxer amara. deputies say the owner shot the dog because of her aggressive behavior. so, they decided to put her down. but they didn't realize her euthanasia was unsuccessful until they saw her on the news. officials have decided there would be no criminal charges. amara is currently at boxer butts and other mutts. they are a nonprofit rescue in western north carolina. geoff: a prayer meeting will being held this morning in response to close three elementary schools in pickens county. those three schools are lewis, holly springs, and ambler elementary schools. that would mean 600 students would be sent to dacusville elementary and middle, and also haygood and pickens elementary schools. this morning at 8:10 a.m. there will be a student led prayer rally at ambler elementary
