three under enrolled schools ambler, a.r. lews and holly , springs elementarys. the district says it will save the district almost $12 million over five years. but some parents don't think it's best for their children. >> we want our children to stay at our small school where they are thriving academically our cash academically. our test scores prove that the small environment and the student teacher ratio works well for us. allyson: school officials say they are still open to alternatives to the plan. geoff: in the coney county, the judge will decide if any laws were broken in the decision to close another upstate school. parents of students at tamassee-salem middle and high school say the oconee county school district had a hand in declining attendance rates. the attorney for the district says nothing unlawful has been done. district officials say closing the school saves the district three-quarters of a million dollars a year. the judge's decision is expected

23 degrees and mostly clear for the upstate with the light breeze out of the northeast. for the good wind out of the northwest in the mountains of north carolina where wind chill advisories continue late morning and same for the mountains of georgia. temperatures range of 20 in asheville, 24 in greenwood, 13 in boone, greenville and spartanburg in the low 20's. that is cold enough. five to eight mile per hour breezes drop it a degree or two. look what the wins due to mountain temperatures. feels like five and hendersonville, tenant asheville and -6 in boone. temperatures get better in the mountains tomorrow with a blast of cold air on saturday and sunday. monday, monday afternoon we see a 60% chance of flurries with cold there but it warms up tuesday and back to normal by the middle of next week.

permit was suspended last month. the county says it learned the company would dump coal ash on its site near highway 93 and cartee road. however, mrr pickens has now sued the county for $25 million and given county council at least 14 days to negotiate a plan to buy back the land. concerned citizens are holding a town hall with state lawmaker from 6:00 to 8:00 tonight at the liberty civic auditorium. allyson: an update now after a hearing in federal court in greenville in the zach hammond case. the attorneys representing hammond's family asked that the city of seneca provide a more detailed documentation about its communication with other parties and an explanation why it has redacted certain information. to spartanburg now, where officials hope you can help identify suspects in an armed robbery. in this surveillance video you them dressed in black with bandanas walking into the convenience store. deputies say the smaller suspect is armed with an assault riffle. it happened in january at the scotchman convenience store. the store manager says the

breeze. what is average this time of the year? on the sunny day with typical conditions, 56 would be an upstate average. we get back to that by the middle of next week. today, 46 may be the best we see. asheville normally sees 50 but not today. more like 34 to 30 eight and feeling colder with wind. another blast of cold canadian air arrives saturday and sunday. sunday will be the coldest of the weekend. on monday afternoon for the upstate after 2:00, a 60% chance of snow flurries. the mountains will see a 60% chance of snow on monday as well. today, 46 for the afternoon, for the mountains, mid 30's to upper will be the best. tomorrow, temperatures get better, 41 in the mountains and about 45 in the upstate.

you can watch this exclusive event live on our wyff 4 app. a vote on closing three pickens county schools comes monday as parents try to save them. allyson: a crowd of 300 students, parents, and teachers met about the proposal last night with school officials at ambler elementary. the school district of pickens county is considering closing three under enrolled schools ambler, a.r. lews and holly , springs elementarys. the district says it will save the district almost $12 million over five years. but some parents don't think it's best for their children. school officials are open to alternatives to the plan. in oconee county, a judge will now decide whether any laws were broken in the decision to close another upstate school. parents of students at tamassee-salem middle and high school say the oconee county school district had a hand in declining attendance rates. the attorney for the district says nothing unlawful has been done. district officials say closing the school saves the district three-quarters of a million

the judge's decision is expected next week. happening today, a community town hall about a north carolina company looking to dump coal ash in pickens county. geoff: mrr pickens has sued the county for $25 million after its land permit was suspended last month. the county says it learned the company would dump coal ash on its site near highway 93 and cartee road. however mrr pickens has now sued , the county and given county council at least 14 days to negotiate a plan to buy back the land. the town hall is tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 tonight at the liberty civic auditorium. allyson: police are hoping you can help them identify suspects in an armed robbery. in this surveillance video you see the two suspects dressed in black with bandanas walking into the convenience store. it happened in january at the
