the ad claims nigel: a political ad now airing in the state accuses marco rubio. of being soft on immigration. the ad claims rubio co-authored a bill to allow illegal immigrants to remain in this country. gabrielle: but is that true? wyff new 4 investigates' tim waller has tonight's truth check. >> from the very start of his presidential campaign, marco rubio has been criticized about an immigration bill he co-authored in 2013. now, the super pac that supports ted cruz has launched this scathing commercial. >> i would vote against anything that grants amnesty. >> you co-authored a bill with democrats 2 years ago that allowed a path to citizenship for undocumented

>> yesterday a bipartisan group of senators announced their principles for comprehensive immigration reform which are very much in line with the principles i've proposed and campaigned on for the last few years. >> the ad continues for another 30-seconds, and the claim that rubio co-authored an immigration bill with democrats is true. here's the bill s-744, which would have given 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country a path to citizenship, which would take 13 years. and here's rubio listed as a co-sponsor, one of four republicans who teamed up with 4 democrats a group that became known as the gang of 8. republican senators lindsey graham, john mccain and jeff flake were also co-sponsors. but, since 2013, rubio has backed away from the immigration bill he helped co-author. he's now calling for stricter border enforcement, and favors a

now to... dramatic changes to the wa gabrielle: dramatic changes to the way we recycle. here's a look at the changes. starting on march 1, glass will no longer be accepted at recycling centers in spartanburg county. it will not be picked up curbside either. in greenville, 2010 knees will stop accepting glass on march 1.

policy was handed down by the company that takes recyclables. >> we understand folks will be upset because they want to feel good about what they are doing. we want to offer that service, but if we don't have a place to take the glass, then we cannot accept them. gabrielle: why the change? this is actually a trend. experts say companies are not making money off of recycling glass. in many cases it's actually cheaper to make new glass. nigel: the gop south carolina primary about a week away. a group of republicans gathered at our wyff 4 studios to talk about the candidates. the group included supporters for every major candidate and at least two people who haven't yet decided. only 3 said they will vote for donald trump. but all believed trump would likely win. national pollster peter hart conducted the focus group. he says south carolina will help

product safety commission will conduct the investigation. the feds plan to draft a report by the end of the year. we will keep you posted. now to our consumer watch. get ready for bigger and better cell coverage. the next generation is on its way. a.t.&t says it will test its 5-g network before the end of 2016. verizon made a similar announcement last year. so far it's not clear exactly how much of a power boost it will give to current upload and download speeds. nigel: smart phones are changing how people find friends. while tinder says half of the its users are college age. in a new study many students say they have never even gone on a date using the popular app. they say they use tinder and other dating apps just to find friends. gabrielle: martin shkreli says he'll give $10 million dollars to kanye west. this so he can have a copy of his new album and no one else. the offer came in a tweet sent thursday. as you may remember. shkreli became a poster-boy for corporate greed when he raised the price of a potentially life-saving drug from $13 to $750 per pill. he is also facing securities

in clayton you had one inch of what's now. that was earlier. 3/10 of an inch. fountain inn did not see much at all. now you can see temperatures in the 40's and 50's. 28 in boone 37 degrees in nashville. this will build across our area as we go through the entire weekend. heavy dense air will stay with us. the storm system is out here in the west. computer models a little farther south.

it will not bring in a lot of warm air. it's very weak. it will have a lot of moisture associated with it. this arctic air will sleep all the way down. big chill for this weekend. when the scattered flurries and snow showers. 22 in the mountains. sunshine in the afternoon. look how cold is going to be. here comes or snow. freezing rain eventually. monday afternoon into monday night.

now the arctic air will start to sweep across. as it does it will produce snow showers. forecast is one to four inches of snow. strong winds gusting over 30 miles per hour. dangerous wind-chill tonight until noon tomorrow. five to -15 degrees. that cold arctic air settles in across our area and will sit there and set the stage for storm system. how strong? if it takes a southern trek wind up with snow, if it takes the northern trackway and up with a little bit of frozen precipitation. the middle track as ice. that's we are thinking right now. freezing rain and sleet. >> that's the concern of these

eventually, we do expect the rain to move in. if you are looking at snow and ice, we are watching the weather models very closely. we think it's going to be in icy mix. there's a 30% chance it will just be regular rain. and a 10% chance it will be all snowfall. one of our models a showing a pretty significant ice. the 10th of an inch of ice from greenville to spartanburg. into the mountains there hendersonville. the rain comes in. more ice. monday morning we will see snow and sleet the changes over to rain monday afternoon and evening. the rain to come in. we looked at the morning models, now are looking at the afternoon models.
