>> live, local, breaking news. this is wyff news 4 at 5:00 in high definition. nigel: commitment 2016 coverage now, and saturday, the republican candidates will face off in the south carolina primary. and donald trump says, he will be in the state all week. carol: wyff news 4's patrick hussion sat down with trump today, and he's here live, with that exclusive interview. patrick: nigel, carol, the current front-runner in the polls is here all week leading into saturday's primary. normally, after a rally like we saw last night in greenville, he would fly back to new york. but not this week. today, he dropped by, and i was able to sit with him and talk about the many issues facing south carolinians as they head to the polls this weekend. monday, he said governor nikki haley should be stronger on not allowing some prisoners from guantanomo bay to be relocated to this state if the prison were shut down. >> leave it open. and let these

-- the clinton was -- bill clinton was in spartanburg county. first, he got a tour of spartanburg community college. he saw firsthand the work students are doing with robotics. then, he made his way to greenville, where he talked to a packed room at the west end community center. the former president talked about everything from health care, to immigration, to education and gun control. >> look, this is crazy. the greatest gift south carolina has given to this country was what those christians in that church did, and reverend pinckney did, in showing forgiveness to that disturbed young man who killed all those people. [applause] and it melted the hardest hearts in the legislature, and they took the confederate flag away. nigel: this reminder, the democratic primary is saturday february 27th. at 6:00, hear what voters at hillary's opponent, bernie sanders. carol: in asheville, crews are break near mcdowell street and choctaw street.

the sewer line. crews say it might have been from the ground getting cold and thawing out, or from old pipes. they expect the issue to be fixed by late tonight. nigel: let's take a live look outside at what is happening right now at interstate 385 and haywood road. this is through our hilton greenville skycam. right now, looking better than yesterday. john cessarich is here with the latest. john: what a difference 24 hours makes. yesterday, we had all the ice and freezing rain. we ended up in greenville between a quarter of an inch or about a 10th of an inch of ice to a quarter of an inch of ice. through the foothills of north carolina from henderson county, rutherford county, the towel county, anywhere from a quarter to a half inch of ice. a nice storm in that area. -- an ice storm. rain moving into the western

the coroner says clayborn jester was standing near an earlier wreck, when another vehicle hit him. officials say he was standing on the side of the interstate, and was knocked over a retaining wall, and killed. three others were also sent to the hospital as a result of the crash. police say a greenville officer responding to the first crash was one of the people injured. nigel: also in greenville county, a teen from easley died, following a crash with a tow truck in greenville last night. the coroner says 17-year-old lauryn agnew died from blunt force trauma, at the hospital. agnew was a senior at southside high school. the crash happened just before 8:30 last night, on verdae boulevard. highway patrol says agnew was traveling west when she hit an icy patch. her car crashed into a tow truck in the eastbound lane. the truck driver was taken to the hospital with injuries. no word on their condition. carol: in oconee county, a 63-year-old woman died after crashing her car on an icy road near walhalla this morning. the coroner says judy tilson crashed just before 6:00 this morning, on north highway 11. tilson died from blunt force chest trauma, at the hospital. the coroner says tilson had been on her way to work.

contributed to the crash. nigel: now to a taylors. a woman died after a crash yesterday. the coroner says a 60 or eight-year-old woman's suv hit another suv. highway patrol is investigating. more accidents early this morning before the sun rose in henderson in buncombe counties. carol: that is where aly myles was. she was there for the cleanup. aly: it was here, then it was gone. the sun came up, the temperatures rose. you can see, the ice turned into just a whole lot of water here in asheville. very wet roads, but for the most part, no more ice. but that wasn't the case around 6:00 a.m. icy bridges and slick sidewalks in hendersonville. just a few miles down the road, this. an early morning rollover, when the driver didn't see a patch of black ice. >> got pretty slick out there. had several accidents, but we've gotten by that, and today looks

aly: drivers say their main complaint, other drivers going too fast. >> slow down a lot, and pay attention. if they'd just do that, it'd make it a whole lot safer, and easier for everybody. >> i definitely try to avoid the sides of the road, and just try not to, like, drive too fast, 'cause then, you can end up on the sides of the road, like the others. aly: buncombe county emergency services director says-the good news is, the majority of accidents had drivers and passengers walking away unscathed. >> we didn't have very many injuries, and nothing really serious. people were careful. we had a few. nothing, not as bad as it could have been. aly: and now, the other good news is, it should warm up, hopefully at least for the rest of the week. aly myles, wyff news 4, in asheville. nigel: icy conditions and traffic collisions kept emergency crews busy monday night. carol: a day later, the work to return to normal continues. wyff news 4's myra ruiz is live

myra? myra: we're at the smith and chiles body shop on pete hollis boulevard. this place, like other auto body shops, expects to see more vehicles involved in accidents during last night's ice storm. >> and i literally, in slow motion, saw the car go this way and that, and it hit the curb, and it flipped. and i watched as everything came up and down and up and down, and i just thanked god through it all. myra: tanja cooper's nissan extera was one of three to overturn after hitting the same slick spot on highway 25. no one was hurt. >> i will tell everyone to make sure you have your seatbelt on. myra: and at one point monday night, the highway patrol was dealing with more than 200 accidents at the same time. yet, despite that high number, >> most of the weather events

ice, it's almost just a normal claims day. i think a lot of times, that's just people running into the ditch, and maybe there's no real property damage, but they're just having it be towed out of the ditch, and then they go on their merry way home. myra: wrecker services, like rocky top auto sales & towing, have been seeing car owners stop by to retrieve belongings from their towed vehicles. walter sloan says it's always nice to know those in the car survived, >> i always ask them if everyone was okay. that's the first thing i ask them when they come up. i'm glad to see that they are. myra: and for car owners like tanja, it's now a matter of waiting to see what the insurance adjuster says. >> they're either going to say that it's fixable, or they're going to total it out. myra: and we spoke to several auto body shops, who say they'll get a better idea of how many -- how much damage was caused in the coming days because that's , usually how long it takes to
