upper 50's in simpsonville and fountain inn. afternoon highs in the 60's today. mountains in the 40's will climb into the 50's. wind out of the west-southwest early will become more northeasterly later this afternoon and then seeing that rain get locked in for tomorrow. today, it may be one of the warmer days of the week with 60's is afternoon and 50's in the mountains. a quick look ahead with the four-day plus forecast. rainy and cool on tuesday, stormy weather on wednesday. patrick: in pickens county , deputies tell us a fisherman found a body near saluda lake. allyson: officals say the fisherman found someone off buckskin road. investigators say 35-year-old farah khan of townville had severe trauma to the head from what appeared to be a gunshot. if you have any information that would help investigators, call crime stoppers at 1-8-crime-sc.

are helping anderson county deputies look for evidence in a double homicide case. the crime happened about 5 weeks ago near pierce and amy road. officals say there is a possiblity that evidence from the homicides may be located along highway 184 near iva elementary school. the search spanned four miles. and deputies asked members of the national guard and the state guard to help out, as they trained this weekend. there is no word on if officals found anything during sterday's search. allyson: turning to our commitment 2016 now. south carolina still a hotbed for politics. this time the democrats are making their way to the palmetto state. patrick: the first rally was held not even 24 hours after the last republican candidate left south carolina. wyff news 4's aly myles joins us live from the bon secours wellness arena in downtown greenville. aly: i have been standing a lot here recently. last night, thousands of people were standing where i was going into the bon secours wellness arena to see democratic

like you are saying, this is just the beginning for the state of south carolina. bernie sanders is trying to rebound after losing the nevada caucus this past weekend to hillary clinton. the people in attendance were energized along with bernie sanders himself. bernie sanders if you look at : national polls and you want a candidate who is going to defeat donald trump, you're looking at that candidate. aly: sanders is trying to inspire supporters to get out to the polls on saturday. hillary clinton also lending her voice to the upstate. on friday she called the kelly mac show on 107-3 jamz. hillary clinton increase : investment in jobs, education and healthcare, and will also continue all i can to counter systemic racism to create opportunities in all communities. aly: just as cnn did with the republican presidential hopefuls there will also be a , town hall for the democratic hopefuls. cnn's chris cuomo will moderate the event on tuesday. it'll be at usc in columbia.

wellness arena. patrick: thank you aly. the republican presidential candidates have now scattered across the country. they'll all end up in nevada this tuesday. that's when the state holds its republican caucus. donald trump won the gop south carolina primary. senators marco rubio and ted cruz finished in a virtual tie. ohio governor john kasich and ben carson finished the lowest in the polls. and jeb bush suspended his campaign for president after the south carolina primary. allyson: the next republican vote will be the nevada caucus this tuesday. on saturday south carolina democrats will hold their primary. a week later, it's super tuesday, when the twelve states highlighted in yellow will vote on march 1. patrick: and a reminder. for another look at the primary results. you can can dowload our wyff 4 moblie app, we have the complete numbers from south carolina and look at the breakdown county-by-county. allyson: people in hendersonville, say they're having a problem with sick raccoons. the animals appear to be drunk. in the past couple of weeks, crews have been dispatched to

displaying the signs of distemper. police say they appear wobbly and even quite friendly. collects -- >> they almost act like they're drunk. they'll be very unsteady on their feet. they'll literally walk up to people. they don't seem aggressive at all, to the point where they'll walk up and someone can actually touch them. allyson: distemper is very contagious and deadly and there is no cure. police say people with pets should make sure their vaccines are up to date. north carolina has reported its first case of the zika virus. officials with the health department say the case was confirmed in an adult who travelededo a country with an ongoing zika virus outbreak. that person has since recovered. the virus is usually spread through mosquito bites. so far, there are no transmission cases in the u.s. beyond a possible sexual transmission in texas. patrick: also in north carolina. at least two confirmed cases of the mumps. and health officials say the cases are related. mumps is contagious virus that is spread by drops of saliva or mucus. symptoms include fever, headache, loss of appetite, muscle aches, and tenderness or

ears. there is currently no treatment for it, but there are two vaccines that reduce the chances of getting the mumps. allyson: if you missed the daytona 500 yesterday, a finnish you have to see. historic photo finish. patrick: with one lap to go, denny hamlin wedged between matt kenseth and martin truex junior in what people are calling a miracle. hamlin and truex raced to the finish line. after further review, a photo finish determined that hamlin edged out truex by one 100th of a the closest finish in second, daytona 500 history. this is hamlin's first time in victory lane at the great american race and the win ended team owner joe gibbs' 23-year daytona 500 drought.

allyson: how mad would you be? patrick: a lot going on in the last quarter of a lap. allyson: a lot going on this week, too. dale: temperatures of not drop much because of the clouds. rain falling in the mountains. as we look at various skycam's, mostly cloudy in greenville as we look at our peace center skycam, liberty bridge in the background. 59 degrees. that is a typical high for this time of the year. we got into the 60's yesterday and it didn't drop a lot overnight. we are seeing showers along the tennessee-north carolina border. a closer look, coming down good near bryson city, asheville getting light to moderate rain. we will see more of that action developing across the entire area by this afternoon. for the upstate, it will take a while before that rain starts to impact us. temperatures across the region are mild for this time of the year with mid to upper 40's in the mountains, upper 50's in the upstate.

mall with hundreds of shoppers. investigators are now working to figure out whether the shooting was gang related. it happened at the columbiana mall saturday night. officers say two men were fighting and then a third men got involved. investigators say two of the men pulled out guns shot into the air and then took off. no one was injured in the shooting police have not identified the shooters but believe the two men are between the age of 20 and 25-years-old. a man in gastonia says he was able to get out of his burning home, thanks to his dog. started barking, and that's what the dog woke up the man, just after 12:30 yesterday morning. when firefighters got there, there was smoke coming from the back of the home. the fire was in the kitchen area. officials say an electrical malfunction in the home heating system caused the fire. firefighters say the home, did not have a working a smoke alarm. allyson: troopers near raleigh say a driver will likely be charged for hitting four bicyclists. the crash happened saturday in johnston county. troopers say the bicyclists were hit from behind by a ford crown victoria. all 4 were thrown from their

two are in critical condition right now. the daughter of the driver told reporters that her mom came over a hill and didn't see the bicycles until it was too late. patrick: friends and family gathered in pendleton to remember the lives of four people killed in a quadruple homicide. the vigil to remember mike and cathy scott, barbara scott and violet taylor was held at veterans park in pendleton saturday afternoon. you may remember all were found shot inside their home last november. so far no arrests have been made in the case. earlier this month anderson , county deputies began consulting with criminal profilers with sled hoping to gain some insight on the crimes. allyson: the ball say the water coming from their faucets looks like black sludge or oil.

mountains will be in the low 40's. a cool down into the weekend. allyson: rescuers in california work for hours to rescue a driver stuck in a truck. a three-car crash sent a rental truck over the side of interstate-80 to crash 45-feet below. the truck driver got trapped. rescuers were finally able to pull the man from the wreckage then lift him up to the freeway in a gurney basket. officials said the man was conscious and able to move when they found him. he was taken to the hospital for treatment. drivers in the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries. patrick: no one was injured after a passenger bus caught on fire on a highway in illinois. firefighters say the bus was fully engulfed by the time they got to the scene near lake forest. passengers say they smelled rubber from the start of their trip in chicago. at one point they heard a loud pop and then a big explosion. the bus then burst into flames, creating a 30-foot plume of smoke. but the driver and the passengers got out of the vehicle in time. there's still no word what caused the fire. allyson: a cyclone in fiji, killed 18 people, and destroyed

officals say over 6,000 people are now in shelters authorities there, imposed a curfew because of the damage, they also declare a month-long state of disaster. wind speeds from the cyclone, were estimated at 177 miles per hour. officials say this is the strongest tropical cyclone to hit fiji in recorded history. patrick: the water in crystal city, texas is no longer crystal clear. it's the exact opposite. dark-colored water has been flowing from city taps over the past few days. some residents say the water looks more like black sludge or oil. city officials say the color is coming from sediment that's leaking into distribution lines during a recent cleaning of the area's water tower. apparently the tower hadn't been cleaned in decades. residents are being told to boil the water before drinking or using it. no word on when the water might return to normal. allyson: it was just an average day at work for a greenwood police officer until he came upon an injured dog in the middle of the road. wes walker took a report last

hours later walker spotted a dog matching that same descrition lying in the road along reynolds avenue. walker stopped his patrol car to check on the animal he said the dog appeared to have its two rear legs injured. so officer walker got down eye-to-eye with the animal to keep it calm until help arrived allyson: the dog was treated at the animal shelter and released back to its owner. patrick: south carolina lawmakers are considering bills that could increase the state's minimum wage. one bill would set the state's minimum wage at $10.10 an hour. right now south carolina is , among 21 states where employers can pay $7.25 at our, the federal minimum. the other bill would repeal the state's right-to-work status. allyson: what's old will be new again, at carowinds. if you plan on visiting the park this summer, you'll be able to enjoy rides that were popular years ago. our affiliate in charlotte, is reporting that carowinds will debut a few refurbished vintage rides. the park is hoping to bring back

with their children. that won't be the only change at the park, the carolina harbor waterpark will open in may. patrick: gas prices continue to drop. according the lundberg survey, the average price for a gallon of gas is $1.77, down a nickel from two weeks ago. below the price of gas one year $.56 ago. prices haven't been this low since 2008. crude oil costs have steadied, and analysts say the latest price drop may be the last unless oil prices go back up and stay up. wholesale prices for refiners have already increased in the past couple days. allyson: are you spending or savings your tax refund? patrick: spending. allyson: the national retail federation's annual tax returns survey finds 49% of those expecting a refund plan to save the money rather than spend it right away. that is the highest percentage in the survey's history. in addition to saving, almost 35% plan to pay down debt and
