a flash flood watch means just that. creeks and streams can rise quick the when the ground is saturated and you can get another inch, 2, 3 inches of rain with those thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow morning. we will be under that watch, flash flood watch through tomorrow afternoon. a quick look at temperatures across the region. they are mild for this time of the year with the rain in the 40's this morning. we will see temperatures just reach low 50's for the upstate today. the mountains of north carolina will go from 40's this morning into upper 40's for the afternoon. we will talk more about the weather. the computer is acting sluggish this morning. we will talk more about what you can expect tomorrow in a few minutes. allyson: a live look now at our laurens and a reminder to be careful on the roads this morning. you may come across ponding or even flooding on the road ways over the next day or so. we caution you to not drive through flooded roadways. give yourself plenty of time this morning to make your commute. geoff: now to a deadly crash in spartanburg. a moped collided with a tow truck.

happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of north pine street and east daniel morgan avenue. keith harrelson was killed in the wreck. he was riding a moped. police say a tow truck stopped in front of him to make a turn. they say harrelson rear-ended with the tow truck. ally: to pickens county now. and the autopsy results released on a woman's body found by fishermen. her body was found sunday morning near saluda lake off buckskin road in pickens county. officials now say after an autopsy monday that reza khan was shot in the head and killed. the coroner has ruled it a homicide. deputies are trying to figure out who she was with saturday night. investigators have not made any arrests as of now. they ask that you call crimestoppers if you have any information on this case. geoff: police now say the reported shooting at columbiana centre mall may not have involved any gunshots at all. police say that they haven't found any shell casings and witnesses who originally reported seeing two men fire aren't as confident about their

if you look behind me, if you're ever -- having trouble placing this, this is the kroc center. this is the lot where the controversial quiktrip has been approved by city council. council approved zoning changes last night for the slot. that clears the way for q.t. to seek building permits from the city. but the changes came with some opposition. >> the addition of this q.t. in my opinion will accelerate the demist of our unique character and opens us up to the highest bidder. >> i think this plan has been approved by the vast majority of people who live in the area, who work in the area and who own property in the area. aly: quik trip says it held over 25 neighborhood meetings while designing its plans. officials say once the city approves those plans construction is expected to take about six months. aly myles, wyff news 4, live in greenville's west end. geoff: four minutes after 5:00.

dispute in pickens county. an upstate judge has ruled company. mrr is suing pickens county for $25 million, saying the county can not prevent it from using the landfill for coal ash. in the meantime the company filed a motion to stop pickens from delaying its plans. a judge denied the motion yesterday and ruled mrr could not dump any coal ash while the case goes forward. county officials say the landfill is for construction debris only. mrr says it has the proper permission from d-hec to dump coal ash. allyson: two development projects are one step closer to coming to downtown spartanburg. last night spartanburg city council approved the first reading of a plan that would sell two pieces of city-owned land to developers for a dollar each. the plan has to undergo one more reading. one developer is proposing retail space and 30 apartments at the corner of daniel morgan and west main. another developer is proposing 50,000 square feet of office space in the area behind the george dean johnson school of business. existing business owners say

progress. >> people come in here all the downtown in years. so everything that's going to happen, it's going to generate more interest in coming downtown which should help everybody overall. allyson: the corner of daniel morgan and west main is currently a parking lot. the city plans to make up for the loss in spaces by offering 65 spaces at the corner of spring and broad streets. geoff: happening today. seneca officials are expected to discuss a request to remove a memorial cross on city property. this cross was built into a stone wall along a patio outside seneca's water treatment plant. it's to memorialize chuck keeler, a worker who fell while helping to build the plant. the freedom from religion foundation says the memorial should be religiously neutral. keeler's daughter says the fight against it opens up wounds that haven't had time to heal. >> it's just disrespectful to my

now to the mystery out of kalamazoo mic allyson: now to the mystery out of kalamazoo, michigan. prosecutors say an uber driver has confessed to going on a killing spree. six people were killed. and jason dalton, went before a judgdg it all started saturday night in kalamazoo. on this map you see the 3 places where the shootings happened. a townhouse. the parking lot of a car dealer. and a cracker barrell parking lot. we see where authorities made the arrest as well. jason dalton appeared in court yesterday by video monitor. he's charged with 6 counts of murder. the judge today denied him bond, he'll stay in jail. that was actually yesterday.

violence. police say a total of 8 people were shot. 4 people in the parking lot of a cracker barrel. two people remain hospitalized, among them a , 14-year-old girl, abigail. doctors say they're encouraged by abigail's stability and responsiveness. >> abigail is strong, and she is a vibrant beautiful young lady and she did not deserve this and neither did her grandmother or those other victims. allyson: so far, no motive has been determined and officials have not found a connection between dalton and the victims. if convicted, dalton could be sentenced to life in prison. geoff: lawmakers in charlotte, north carolina are expanding rights for gay, lesbian and transgender people. they voted to add to the city's non-discrimination ordinance last night. the new measures will prevent public businesses from discriminating based on sexual orientation gender identity and , marital status. at a town town council meeting members of the public spoke on both sides of the issue about the proposal. a hot topic in the proposal's debate transgender people now

james comey defended the justice department's decision. he wrote, "the san bernardino litigation isn't about trying to set a precedent or send any kind of message. it is about the victims and justice." geoff: the 16-year-old passenger on board the helicopter that crashed in pearl harbor has died. the teen and 3 family members visiting from canada were aboard a tour helicopter. it crashed thursday. witnesses rushed into the water to help pull the victims to shore. federal agencies are investigating the crash. families of sandy hook victims are suing the maker of the gun used by adam lanza in the 2012 mass shooting. they want answers specifically from the maker of the ar-15 remington the weapon designed by , the military and used at the elementary school. nine of the families lost a loved one in the shooting at newtown elementary. their suit claims the bushmaster ar-15 rifle used by gunman adam lanza should not have been available to the public, because it is a military weapon too dangerous for civilian use.

maker bushmaster firearms, has said it's protected by a federal law shielding gun manufacturers from lawsuits over criminal use of their products. a 97-year-old california woman is getting the boot out of the home she's lived in for more than 60 years. marie hatch has lived in this burlingame house for 63 years. she says her former landlord was a close friend and promised she could stay in the home for the rest of her life. georgia rotherock has been hatch's roommate for the last 30 years. but now the new landlord is serving an eviction notice and giving the two women 60 days to find a new place to call home. >> yeah, we've had a good time in this house. we're staying optimistic that some accommodation can be reached. geoff: it certainly seems like they have a good attitude. the new landlord a distant relative of hatch's friend says they were unaware of the lifetime agreement. rotherock says she hasn't been able to find affordable housing

clash at chuck-e-cheese. connecticut police say at least a dozen people were involved in the all out brawl, and it's all caught on camera. police say the incident may have started after two women bumped into each other inside the chuck-e-cheese in manchester. that's when witnesses say things escalated quickly leading to the fight. no arrests have been made so far because the group left before officers arrived. no one was seriously hurt. that is the good news. allyson: a north charleston pastor challenging tim scott in his been -- bid for re-election. pastor thomas a. dixon announced his decision at a news conference monday. in a news release, dixon says he is, "a tireless advocate and will reach out to people who feel they are underrepresented by current elected officials." dixon is a democrat and a community activist scott is a republican and has served since 2013, when he was appointed by governor nikki
