we are about a block from the post office. this has been shut down since wednesday night. according to duke energy, they say they will have to replace the polls and the power lines as a result of the strong wind. duke energy says because of the extent of the damage it's taking , a little longer to restore all of the outages. it will be back open once the repairs are made for no word on when that will happen. aly myles wyff news 4 live in greenville. geoff: thank you. other news this morning, four people are dead in kansas and 14 shooting. the shooting happened in south authorities say an excel industries worker stole a vehicle, shot people in the opened fire inside the workplace. >> we was already looking at him, and he yelled and just went -- doot,doot doot and then entered the building. >> inside the building, he shot a total of 15 people four were -- 15 people.

open late. president obama has nominated two people to serve on the united states district court for the district of south carolina. both of them have upstate ties. one is donald beatty. he has been an associate justice on the south carolina supreme court since 2007. at one point, he was a partner at a law firm in spartanburg. the other is donald coggins jr. he is a lawyer. coggins jr. works also worked for a law firm in spartanburg. he also serves as a member of the south carolina commission on lawyer conduct. geoff: in north carolina, the race is heating up for the u.s. senate. the democratic debate was hosted by wral tv. the four candidates are kevin griffin, ernest reeves, chris rey, and deborah ross. the topics included health care and social security, but they also talked about allowing syrian refugees into north carolina. >> we have to lead the world in honoring every individual. we are the light of the world. people want to come here for a reason. we need to bring them in through a comprehensive screening
