look out from our i-80 -- i 385 and woodruff road skycam, clear skies to look forward to. isolated sprinkles in one or two spots. clouds will break for afternoon sunshine in the mountains and it will climb to low 60's for western north carolina. overnight, we see some rain in parts of kentucky and north carolina with that front coming through. temperatures ranging from 48 and anderson to 51 in greenville, 41 in asheville. these are pleasant, overnight lows. breeze out of the southwest at 10-14 at times. keep that in mind. 3-12 in the mountains. a spring breeze going on today. look at those afternoon temperatures. soaring to 68 in the upstate. mountains reaching into the low 60's. we will talk more about the rest of the week in just a few minutes. allyson: taking a look outside, i-85, some construction to tell you about. this happening around highway 290, my marker 63 in spartanburg

all of those flashing lights are in the northbound lanes. expecting to clear out soon, but moving slower around that area this morning. geoff: new information this morning. fire officials tell us a child was taken to a burn center after a house fire in honea path. allyson: investigators say crews responded last night to green street. they say 4 adults and two children were inside the home. officials say one child was pulled out in cardiac arrest. taken to a hospital to be stabilized and then taken to the burn center. investigators say no other injuries were reported and the house is probably a total loss. also new information this morning. greenville county deputies say they're investigating a home invasion in fountain inn. they say it happened about 10-30 investigators say a man and woman with a gun rummaged through the home and left in a car. no one was hurt and no arrests have been made. geoff: in greenville county. a boy scout is back home safe after spending nearly a day alone in frigid temperatures covered up in leaves to stay warm. allyson: 12-year-old john quay

during a hike in jones gap state park afternoon. saturday officials say he was was alone for roughly 18 hours. he was found sunday.,on old camp creek road hungry cold and in wet clothes. we're told john crossed creeks and went through some rough terrain in below freezing temperatures. >> the crew that found him said he just come up and gave them a big hug like thank you. it was pretty overwhelming. allyson: john is part of boy scout troop 210 out of powdersville. troop leaders say they teach the boys survival skills at a young age including using the buddy system. they say they aren't sure how he got separated. geoff: greenville county deputies say they need your help finding a double murder suspect who cut off his ankle monitoring device. investigators say bradford williams killed two people at a nightclub in 2014. he was released from jail in january with a ankle monitoring device as part of the home incarceration program, records show he cut off that device thursday morning.

friends and family living in the taylors area and in oconee and anderson counties. if you see him you're asked to call 911. allyson: in asheville police say they need your help finding a driver who fired shots during a road rage incident. it happened early friday morning along tunnell road. a woman told police she was almost in a collision with a man, who then fired a handgun in her direction. police say they tried to stop the driver, but he took off. the woman was not hurt. if you have any information about what happened, call the asheville police department. geoff: state troopers say they've charged a woman who hit 4 bicyclists with her car in johnston county. the crash happened last weekend investigators say 50-year-old donnie marie williams drove her car behind the cyclists and hit them throwing them from their bikes. williams did stop at the scene after the crash. but a cyclist hurt in the accident says he's not satisfied

good weather to look forward to on this monday. a quick look at the area, abbeville, 51 in greenville. let's check on a few other communities. as we start the day, 46 at caesars head. temperatures want to the 60's. we are seeing 10-50 mile-per-hour southwest breeze northwhwt in the mountains. not a lot in the country. snow in canada. maybe a few showers in the northwest. most of the rain activity will be in the mid-atlantic and northeast today. the mountains may get isolated sprinkles as part of that front coming through. by tomorrow afternoon, we will see a better chance or the next school front coming in to bring us a chance of rain in tuesday and wednesday. tuesday's high will be the ultimate 60 range.

melton stuffed tobacco products and the drug suboxone into part of the bible. investigators say that bible was intended for melton's son 34-year-old jackson kirby. melton is charged with providing drugs and tobacco products to an inmate. geoff: in georgia one business owner is requiring all his employees to be armed. the company, lance toland and associates, provides risk management services to aircraft insurers. toland says recent reports about crime concern him. now, he's requiring that all his employees carry a weapon. once employees get their licences, he gives them a gun. toland says all his aviation insurance agencies carry the guns openly in the office. at the south carolina statehouse lawmakers are looking at a proposal aimed at encouraging hunters to target coyotes. the animals have even been spotted in bluffton recently. if passed state officials would tag a dozen coyotes, and release them. hunters who kill one of them would get a thousand dollars. the state newspaper reports this is all to cut down on the predator population.

high-rise oceanfront hotel is planned on the south end of myrtle beach the first major development in the area since before the great recession. the 240-room bayshore hotel will have its own waterpark and cost more than $50 million. it will be built on a vacant site in an area of south ocean boulevard that hasn't seen any new development in decades. geoff: in georiga, u.s. customs and border protection recently seized more than 2600 hoverboards at savannah's port. counterfeit. valued at more than a million dollars. agents say the boards posed a safety risk and used trademark logos without authorization. the first batch arrived here december 28 from asia. safety concerns around the country. fofothe second time the irs says the estimated damage of taxpayer data theft is much larger than originally estimated.

more northwesterly in the mountains at 3-10 this morning. what does it normally do this time of year? it has been wild. we haven't had too many average days. average is 64 a high. we got above that yesterday. we will again today with a projected high of 68. the record is 79 set back in 1972. it can be warmer or colder this time of the year. the 29th of february, instead of 54 for a mountain high, 61. above normal temperatures today. it looks like that trend continues tomorrow. another cool front starts to come in tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow evening. that will pick up showers tuesday, wednesday morning will be our best chance of getting some rain. we will have another front come through h friday to bring us a chance of showers. today, no problems, 68 degrees for the afternoon is pretty nice for late february. asheville will reach 61 for a high. here is a quick look ahead.

officer actually g -- ashley guindon. our condolences to everyone. allyson: a suspect is due in court. the other officers who were shot are said to have non-life threatening injuries. geoff: to texas, now, where officals say two adults and two children were killed in a small plane crash near an airport southeast of college station. a pilot landing at the airport spotted the crash site in the woods and called it in to authorities. according to the federal aviation administration the 4-seater aircraft departed from houston's david wayne hooks airport yesterday morning. the crash is still under investigation by the faa. allyson: an ohio pastor is dead after a shooting inside a sunday morning service. william schooler had just walked back to the pulpit inside zion baptist church when the shooter got out of a pew and followed him. witnesses say they heard a couple of shots fired while the choir was singing, and it

everyone took off running. the church at the time. the shooter is believed to be schooler's brother, and dayton police are investigating a possible motive. geoff: turning to consumer news, air frequent travelers no legroom is shrinking on airlines . i said the same thing myself when i was flying new york center. chuck schumer wants the faa to require airlines to abide by a he says leg room on planes used to be 35-inches, but has shrunk to an average of 31. schumer says seats are getting narrower in the hips too, shrinking about two inches. the senior senator from new york will introduce a seat-size guideline amendment to the faa reauthorization act that is pending in congress. a vote on the bill is expected in march. allyson: the number of people caught up in the theft of taxpayer data last year is seven times larger than originally thought. last may, the internal revenue

website to steal the tax forms of 104,000 people. in august the irs revised that number up to 330,000. friday, the agency said the number is now closer to 720,000. starting this week the agency will warn affected taxpayers about potential identity theft. they will be offered free credit protection. geoff: a big change if you have a disney vacation on the calendar. disneyland in california and walt disney world in florida are changing to demand-based pricing. the calendar will be divided into value, regular and peak periods. a value one-day pass at disneyland, for monday through thursday, will drop to 95 dollars. a regular pass, for most weekends and summer weeks, rises to $105. the price will then shoot up to $112 on peak days. that includes most of december, spring break weeks and july weekends.

clemson football team goes back to work today. the tigers first spring practice is this afternoon. the gamecocks two weeks away from the start of their spring low pr both programs will play their spring game on baseball april 9. season's just getting started. but basketball season winding down. the south carolina women have closed out the regular season, as just the second team in s, e, -- sec history to go through week play -- through league play, a perfect 16-0. the team finished it off with lsu on senior day in columbia. the winningest class in school history with 115 victories, celebrated this weekend. the gamecocks with no trouble, beating lsu 75 to 39. meanwhile. the clemson men wrapped up the regular season with a 71-57 loss to nc state. the tigers will face wake forest in the acc tournament at 2:30 wednesday in greensboro. and in high school basketball three upstate teams will play for state titles this upcoming weekend in columbia. on the boys side, the byrnes

it was craziness. dale: were a lot of people riding? geoff: oh, yes. it was a lot of fun. in this morning's buzz. yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks. allyson: four shelter dogs rescued from slums and abandoned lots around sao paulo were trained as ball dogs for the brazil open tournament. geoff: their job? to retrieve balls that went out of bounds at an exhibition match and then give them back to the players. allyson: they like the getting part. a local shelter hope to raise awareness with its ball-dog initiative. geoff: in case you were wondering, the 4 dogs were named frida, mel, isabelle and costela allyson: that was funny. right when you said they give them back. geoff: not so much.
