geoff: a beautiful day. dale: 73 yesterday. geoff: it was great and out the drop off. dale: today is still mild but we are talking about super tuesday and may be stormy tuesday for several states. action going on in arkansas. we will see that front, the cold front marching across our region this afternoon and into the evening. that is only start to see showers and thunderstorms from it, but 30's and the 40's in the mountains and they will reach the 60, 61 mark. though to upper 40's in the upstate will climb to the mid-60's. one more warm day in the behind that front, cooler temperatures for tomorrow. wind is liked right now, and we will see that chance of showers around 4:00 and on. 66 for the upstate, 61 in the mountains and windy with

61 to 62 for the mountains. cold air temperatures behind it tomorrow. a strong chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially this evening and tonight. keep that in mind. geoff: thank you. spartanburg county deputies tell us say a 5-year-old boy was accidentally shot overnight. we don't know much about the shooting right now, but we know it happened on rowe street in the arcadia area around 7:30. allyson: deputies say the child was taken to spartanburg medical center. at this time, we do not where he was shot or his condition. geoff: we will bring you more information as soon as we get it. a wyff news 4 update now on a fire in honea path. the little girl pulled from the fire died from her injuries. allyson: wyff news 4's aly myles joins us live from the scene of the fire on green street. aly: we are live in front of that family's home. you can see the damage from

a lot of charred remains. not a whole lot of activity here this morning. the news has gone far worse in the last few hours. the anderson county coroner says 5-year-old sophia rhodes died yesterday from her injuries. fire officials tell us the child was found between a wall and a couch in the home. the little girl was rushed to the burn unit in augusta. she died from smoke inhalation. friends of the family say sophia was the youngest of five children. aly myles wyff news 4 live in honea path. geoff: thank you. greenville police say a man was shot in the back last night. the shooting happened at the brook haven apartment complex. police say the man was brought to greenville memorial hospital and is stable. the spartanburg county coroner says the four usc upstate students killed in a crash in october had been drinking. that accident happened on fourth street near boiling springs. only one of the five students in the car survived. according to results, three of the students who died, including the driver james campbell, had a

legal limit. the coroner says he needed guidance from the state attorney general before giving out that information. the reason was because some of the victim's families fought the release. toxicology results are considered private, but coroners are not regulated by privacy laws. allyson: commitment 2016 super , tuesday is here. with so many delegates to be won or lost during the voting process today, super tuesday can reveal which candidates have the best chance at winning their party's nomination for president. geoff: republican candidate ted cruz needs to win texas if he hopes to remain in his party's race, which has been focused on frontrunner donald trump and senator marco rubio. it won't be good for democratic candidate bernie sanders if he doesn't carry his home state of vermont. allyson: now, a look at the polls. this cbs, you-gov poll was done friday before the david duke comments. trump is at 40% in georgia. ted cruz at 29%. marco rubio at 22%. ben carson at 7%.

geoff: on the democratic side, hillary clinton leads with 63%. 35% of democratic voters in georgia supporting bernie sanders. polls in georgia open tomorrow -- open this morning at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. wyff news 4's nikole killion now with more of what's at stake on super tuesday. nikole: it's march madness on the campaign trail. about a dozen states weigh-in on the candidate competition with more than a thousand delegates up for grabs. some of the key contests, georgia awarding 76 delegates for the gop, 102 for the democrats. and everything is bigger in texas where the democrats are vying for 222 delegates, while republicans have 155 up for grabs. adding to the lonestar significance, it's home to senator ted cruz who's hoping , for state support to bring him a win. another candidate with a super tuesday ties, vermont senator bernie sanders. he's counting on his constituency is at the primary polls. geoff: that was nikole killion reporting.

a union county teacher has geoff: a union county teacher has resigned from her job rather than face a disciplinary hearing for pictures taken from her phone. leigh anne arthur was a mecatronics acher in the career and technology center at union county high school. she tells us she took photos of herself showing partial nudity and was going to send them to her husband. she says a student at the school accessed the pictures from her unattended phone and sent them to other students. >> he knows right and wrong. he had the ultimate decision to take pictures of my pictures and

send them out. so i don't understand why i am being held accountable. i didn't do anything except have a dumb moment for two or three minutes. geoff: arthur says she knows who the student is and forgives him. the union county sheriff's office is investigating the incident to see whether the student should be charged. allyson: an easley high school teacher has resigned after complaints about a poem he wrote and shared with students. gregory fish would hold d asses with advanced placement english literature students at the starving artist cafe. earlier this month, he shared a poem that used the f-word. parents of easley students called news 4. they say the poem also described a sexual encounter between an older man and a young girl. mr. fish resigned after being placed on administrative leave but some students say it's unfair he's gone. >> i would not be here talking to the news about any circuit news if you are not made an impact.

it warms back up to normal by saturday and a little above normal sunday and especially monday. a nice weekend and mouth beginning to next week. geoff: turning to this morning's headlines four students are hurt , after a shooting at an ohio high school. police say a 14-year-old student opened fire inside the madison junior-senior high school cafeteria monday. two students were shot and two others were hurt while trying to exit. all of their injuries are non-life threatening. police say the shooter ran from the building and dropped the weapon but was taken into custody near school grounds. allyson: one of the boston bomber's passed the u.s. citizenship test and denied terrorism links just months before the bombings. tamerlan tsarnaev died in a shootout with police days after the 2013 bombings. three people were killed and more than 260 were wounded. no errors were found in the processing of his application and no warnings were ever raised. tsarnaev and his brother

here in south carolina. three teams from the upsate will play for state championships this weekend, and for one boys team, it's the first trip to the final in 23 years. the byrnes rebels have been ranked at or near the top of the state rankings all season long. the rebels come into the state title game at 26 and 4. byrnes will face irmo in the 4a boys final, a program that has made a habit of winning state championships. rebels coach layne fowler says he thinks his group is special. >> i've got great kids that i trust. they are seniors. we are a pretty vetweran team. they have been through a lot of tough games. we are excited about playing coach whipple at irmo. they have a really good team, so we will see what happens. brad: a byrnes state championship would be the first since 1990, when the rebels won the 3a state championship. three teams from the upstate will play for state championships this weekend in columbia. the byrnes boys will face irmo friday night at 8:30. the chirst church girls will

geoff: thank you. happening today in commitment, super tuesday voting taking place in 11 states. allyson: it is also called sec super tuesday because of the dominance of southern states voting today. we get the primary picture in georgia. >> georgia is on the mind of all candidates, with 100 two democrat and 76 republican delegates up for grabs, it's the second biggest prize on super tuesday. evangelicals and african americans hold major sway on this southern state's presidential picks. recent polls show voters democratic voters consider economy and healthcare the top issues, while republicans say the threat of terrorism is the number one issue, followed by the economy. i'm sally kidd. >> here in church, expected to be a close night if the polls are right.
