The day-to-day life and expressive culture of a group of runaways in San Francisco in one of the first "no-budget" 8mm video documentaries. The runaway teens created a cohesive family on the streets; their mistreatment of "sadobaby" dolls mirrors they way their abusive parents treated them. Made from 1986 to 1988 by videographer and folklorist Nancy Kalow; produced by Nancy Kalow and writer/social worker May Petersen. Special Jury Trophy:
