we are iowa" nikki: good evening. welcome to local 5 news, i'm nikki davidson. two robbers entered a fort dodge hotel with a gun this morning and demanded money... nikki: it happened around 6:20 this morning at the best western starlite off 3rd avenue northwest. witnesses say two men entered the building and demanded money at the front desk. one of them displayed a handgun at an employee. no one was injured but they got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. one of the suspects is desciorbed as 5'8" to 5''10" and about 170 lbs with dark clothing with a grey hoodie. the second suspect is described as 5'6" to 5'8" and weighs about 150 lbs and wore a blue hoodie anyone with more information about the robbery is asked to contact police. nikki: a robbery attempt in downtown des moines, didn't go according to one man's plan. it happened around 10:50 this morning at central bank at the 27-hundred block of hubbell avenue. police say a man in a red ski mask tried to get inside the bank lobby. the robber pulled on the doors, but was unable to get inside because they wer

welcome to local 5 news, i'm nikki davidson nikki: big news out of ames tonight. paul rhoads is out of the job at iowa state university. nikki: athletic director jamie pollard made the announcement this morning, informing coach rhoads of his decision before releasing a statement to the media. pollard went on to say that the change will be effective at the end of the season and that rhoads will coach in the season finale at west virginia on saturday. in rhoads' 7 seasons in ames, he compiled a 32- 54 record, leading iowa state to 3 bowl games in seven years, but none since 20-12. pollard and rhoads will both meet with the media coming up on monday. local 5's jacob peklo caught up with fans and has more from ames... jacob peklo, reporting: "definitely a disappointing, if not somewhat surprising turn of events in ames today. paul rhoads...fired just hours after the team's latest setback. now, i talked to a number of students and fans of the university and they told me that rhoads definitely had a great grasp on his team and they were definitely playing hard for him,
