paolo scaroni recently took over as president of a.c.ilan, one of the world's most recognized football clubs. today on "leaders with lacqua," we meet paolo scaroni. thank you for joining us. so is the business of football different to energy and banking because of the emotions of the fans? paolo: well, it is very different. emotions play a big role in football. you have to take account of it, of course, because fans want your team to win always and don't care very much about your results, your economic results. this creates a discrepancy between the expectation of the fans and the expectation of the shareholders. ronaldo plays for one of your rivals, does it mean a tying football is back? paolo: i think so. i really think so. italian football has been losing ground in the last 10 years. the best example of this losing ground is that italy did not play in the world cup for the first time since 50 years or even more. we have ahe fact prestigious hedge fund buying will make a difference. francine: what does it mean for elliott strategy goin

you will have a program with a.c. transit. you have sfmta. and you also have this partnership with all these alternatives, you know, the private sector and the employees and the different categories. i think that is to take away that i want everybody to be in mind while we are in the process of trying to resolve some of these technicalities of how do we make this happen and also knowing that at -- on the outset , we may not have the population that we have. everyone should also be in mind that treasure island will be a point of destination. we also have the tourism. we also have an elaborate plan to hold events on treasure island. and all the discussions, that needs to be about the island on the residents on the profile of the different visitors that are going to be coming even beyond the mainland of san francisco. they will be coming from the region. what i am particularly interested in back driving, with some of the other halves, have just completed the master land use plan for the parks of san francisco. i chair the transportation committe

i used to commute into this building when it was old, on the golden gate bridge buses, and on the a.c transit buses out of alameda for a couple of years. it was a miserable sort of place.
