i'm aaron gilchrist. this news still unfolding. darcy spencer joins us live with the latest. >> reporter: aaron, let me set the scene where we are right now. we're in prince george's county. this is rigs road. you see the intersection with metsorat road. there is a vehicle obviously involved in a crash. we're told that vehicle is belonging to a suspect who was shot and wounded here on the scene by a tacoma park police officer. apparently that suspect was involved in an attempted carjacking at a sunoco gas station. we have video of that. that happened earlier this afternoon in the 6900 block of new hampshire avenue in tacoma park. we're told that there was someone there who attempted to car jack a person, who had a porsche there at the gas station. and a witness told us that he saw the whole thing. let's listen to what that witness had to say. what happened? >> i saw pretty much everything. >> reporter: it was a stabbing? >> it was an attempted carjacking. the guy was actually stand at the pump. >> reporter: awe you saw it? >> the wh

aaron gilchrist has the latest. >> reporter: this is the home of u.s. district judge liam o'grady. the judge is okay. we have seen him walking up the street. he and his family we're told by the fire officials are okay. but there are fire marshals inside doing their investigation as we speak trying to figure out what caused this fire. this was a two-alarm blaze that was an extensive fire in a large home. our camera got here an hour after the first call and there was fire in the rafters here. a deputy fire chief tells me that firefighters got here just before 7:30 and saw flames coming from a large second floor bedroom on three sides of the house. they got in the attics, the flames did. also along the roof here. there was a teenager in the house and he was able to get out okay before the firefighters tackled the flames. >> the units made entry into the house and gained access to the upstairs and anguished the fire within 15 minutes of the first unit's arrival on scene. >> reporter: the u.s. marshals responded to the scene because this is a federal judge's home. they are here with the

i'm aaron gilchrist. we'll get to those stories in just a moment. first, though, we begin with some breaking news. a police chase ended with two officers injured and suspectsri. this is all happening not far from north capitol street. news 4's darcy spencer live there. darcy, brings up to speed. >> there have been some developments here just within the last several minutes. if we can go to some video we shot about 15 minutes ago, you can see that s.w.a.t. team officers entered a home here in the unit block of gallatin street in northwest washington. again, about 5:45, four hours into this barricade situation. that is where we are told possibly two suspects have been barricaded for the last several hours. it's unclear whether those suspects have been taken into custody, but all along, police say they want to resolve the situation peacefully. it started as a routine traffic stop by two u.s. park police officers in northwest d.c. at 1:45 this afternoon. and it turned into a crash, a lengthy standoff, police surrounding a house with weapons drawn, and h

i'm jim andly, in tonight for aaron gilchrist. it's a developing story at mcpherson square. the standoff began early this afternoon, and it is still unfolding as we speak. news 4's darcy spencer joins us now live from mcpherson square with more on what's going on now. darcy? >> reporter: jim, a lot's been going on, just here in the last 20 minutes. police gave another warning that arrests would be made and they went into the structure here and made several arrests here, just again within the last 20 minutes. you can see that police have that structure surrounded. they've told people that they need to come down from the roof of the building. obviously, they're not complying with those requests and it's unclear at this point how police are going to get them down. >> that's an iraq secrvet! >> reporter: a dozen d.c. occupy protesters were arrested sunday over this, a wooden structure put up at mcpherson square. a building inspector came out and posted these "danger" signs on the building. >> a peaceful protest! >> reporter: police surrounded the structure and set a deadline for

i'm aaron gilchrist. it is the record 15th police shooting in prince george's county this year, and tonight there are two very different versions of what happened. this all centers on a deadly confrontation last late last night in the 7500 block of greenleaf road in palmer park. nbc's derrick ward explains. >> reporter: 34-year-old rodney edwards was shot saturday evening. he was shot several times in front of his home in greenleaf park. family members want to know why a police officer opened fire on edwards. they heard the shots. >> i walked to the door. when i opened the door, there was a blue van, cargo dan, dark tinted windows and an undercover police with a 9 millimeter and he looks like he was laying back. he had been shot. >> reporter: they say edwards had just been dropped off by a friend. >> he got out of her car and sat down on the curb, said that he had been drinking, you know, he was going to sit down here for a minute, and then turn around, and then within five minutes, five shots rang out. >
