aaron mesmer, fox 13 news. >> terrifying morning for 11 people in jacksonville they were held in a bank by a man with a gun for two hours. s.w.a.t. was called in to get them released. the s.w.a.t. team moved in after two people hiding inside the bank made a run for it. morning. nicholas humphrey put them through a terrifying ordeal, he threatened to kill hostages, we had information he was putting the gun to the back of the head at a couple of points. based on that ?the threats and that activity escalated through the event. >> this was going on in the lobby two people were hiding inside the bank and the suspect didn't know break as they ran out s.w.a.t. ran in. >> they placed themselves between the hostage taker and hostages and rescuing them upon seaing the s.w.a.t. he was rendered. we took him into custody. and save the lives of the hostages. >> the hostages were taken to the library down the street. we were there when he they met p with family and friends and went home. a traffic offense and arrested in hillsborough county on a battery domestic charge in february of this year. kelly

fox 13 aaron mesmer is live outside of the rec center. right. this was a really big, this is really big loss to this community. rec center meant a lot to the folks around here. i saw 1 person driveing by. you can really see is the shock on his face. we've seen tears in people's eyes. really good mean a lot right now what's going on behind me investigators are going through the wreck age trying to figure out how this fire started. there's crews back there cleaning away some of the debris. and that's really what's going to be going on throughout the from people in this community is how did this happen. how did the fire start? unfortunately it could be some time before we know that answer. this was a massive fire that tore through the winston park recreation center. neighbors could see flames from a few miles away. took an hour and a half or so at and 35 firefighters to put it out. this facility just received a two and a half bill monday dollar donation this year from tampa bay lightning owner jeff vinik and boys and girls club so it has be a tape
