we will continue to update abc seven news.com and the abc seven bay area app. happening today, oakland police will deploy additional officers at the fifth annual lake fest, just three days after 15 people were shot near lake merritt. organizers of the summer festival are determined to keep violence from marring their event. there's a strict no weapons policy and everybody will pass through metal detectors. bellevue avenue as well as side streets connecting to grand avenue, have already been closed. more than 150 vendors will set up along lake merritt for people to enjoy some local food. beer artists and music, and the event runs from 11 this morning until 7 p.m. happening overnight. one person has died in san francisco following a shooting near the civic center. officers were called out to mission and ninth streets at around 7 p.m, where they found the victim. police also found and detained a possible suspect, according to the charges against him. david depape broke into nancy pelosi's house looking for her. only her husband, paul, was home as police responded

from abc seven live. breaking news and that breaking news. >> the battle against two brush fires burning right now in the bay area, here is the scene from sky seven of one burning in fremont. this three alarm fire is spreading near train tracks across from a business complex, and just about a half hour ago, we saw the flames jump the tracks and ignite palm trees. there are also overhead power lines as you see above those flames. this is burning in marshland in the area of eureka drive and stevenson boulevard. a second brush fire erupted about an hour ago in sonoma county. cal fire and local fire crews are battling the flames near cloverdale, off the east side of geysers road near preston drive. you can see all the smoke in this time lapse video. the fire is approximately six acres at this point, cal fire tells us forward progress has been stopped. so some good news there in sonoma county. >> and now to our top story tonight inside of oakland city hall. the focus isn't on the mayor dealing with the fbi rai

abc seven news.com. all right.ur next abc seven building a better bay area breakthrough has to do with a new building, adding local jobs for the new expansion project of oakland's children's hospital. we're on hand to hear what the key agreement making sure local workers are being employed for that job. $1.6 billion project will modernize the hospital's campus, while the main building on mlk and 52nd will stay. several older buildings behind it will be replaced. those date back to the 1920s, so they're pretty old. the emergency department will also double in size. that's critical. the hospital is the only level one pediatric trauma center in the region, so it'll be seven stories. >> uh- will include a new neonatal intensive care unit, two new medical surgical units, and inpatient psychiatric unit, which will be the first in the region for kids here in the bay area. >> the trade agreement ensures at least 30% of the workforce is alameda and contra costa county based. the upgrades are set to be completed by 2030. >>

abc seven news.com. all right. next abc seven building a better bay area breakthrough has to do with a new building, adding local jobs for the new expansion project of oakland's children's hospital. we're on hand to hear what the key agreement making sure local workers are being employed for that job. $1.6 billion project will modernize the hospital's campus, while the main building on mlk and 52nd will stay. several older buildings behind it will be replaced. those date back to the 1920s, so they're pretty old. the emergency department will also double in size. that's critical. the hospital is the only level one pediatric trauma center in the region, so it'll be seven stories. >> uh- will include a new neonatal intensive care unit, two new medical surgical units, and inpatient psychiatric unit, which will be the first in the region for kids here in the bay area. >> the trade agreement ensures at least 30% of the workforce is alameda and contra costa county based. the upgrades are set to be completed by 2030. >> ne
