katherine scott is on the 600 block of garfield avenue in abington. tell us what you can. >> reporter: we did just get an update from the fire marshal he confirmed that one person died in the fire overnight. you can see firefighters remain on the scene here they are continuing to look for hot spots. there's a lot of damage to the home on the 600 block of garfield avenue in abington. when firefighters arrived there were flames through the roof of the home, heavily involved in a bedroom, when firefighters went inside, they met some challenges, they said there were hoarding conditions inside the home. that poses challenges for firefighters. when they searched the property they found a man on the floor. he was unconscious and brought him out he was pro announced dead. he has not identified, we don't know his age. the fire marshal estimate he is in his 50s and 60s. the man lived alone here. at this point this remains under investigation, we don't know the cause of the fire, again, flames were heavily involved when firefighters arrived. they were able to ab
