i used to bend mayor lee's ear about the academies, keep the academies going. and that's why i pushed for the increase in the number of people accepted into the academy from 48 to 54 because our attrition rate was getting to be high in some classes. so, it's heartening to see that we are making progress. that we're not going to be faced with a crisis at some point because when people are ready to retire, they go.
