it is kind of like the academy awards. i have been extraordinarily fortunate in city government to have two of the best jobs anyone could ever have, the controller and the head of utilities for the city and county of san francisco. the rally has been a labor of love. i have enjoyed the substance of the job, the topics we engage in, but much more than that, the people. you have such incredibly smart, creative, wonderful, talented people that work for the city and county of san francisco who are so committed to public service and so intent on making sure we serve the people who come here and visit and the people who live here. it's a wonderful group to spend the last 28 years of my life with. i'd like to thank everybody in the room. i cannot quite do that. i do want to make sure i recognize one person 3 without him, i would not be here at all. my partner and my husband of 38 years, stan. the last 16 academy award winning films. recently acquired a web based company. it is a company that specializes in do-it-yourself projects. an easy way to understand what they do, it is social media needs the makers movements. they have acquired bad. they have a space need to accommodate. they approached the port. that was a nice phone call to receive. we decided that pier 9 would be the best alternative. the lease is for about 3000 square feet of office and about 5000 square feet of unapproved -- unimproved shed space. the office has been vacant for some time, about two years. the negotiations have led to rent of about $13,000 per month. rates in line with the port commission approved parameters. it would be increased by 3% on the first anniversary date. they're willing to make a very significant investment in to port property. we are proposing to include 180 date rent abatement. -the key to this lease, the 5000 square foot shed space and they are going to improve it. that is how we have incrementally built pier 9. in addition to that, they've received a rent c

[applause] these questions have come through on various means. can we have the first question? >> the first question -- i am going to compile a group -- a lot of people are asking what is currently inspiring new? from different cultures, the internet, textile design -- what exciting things are you seeing in contemporary textile design? and what are you reading? >> definitely, that is very sad, but i have not enough time to read. that is the very sad part. so i'm not enough reading, but i'm getting older and getting closer. now that nobody is doing any more reading, i will read. no, i think honestly, it is a question of time, but reading, to bring inspiration, but that is the problem. i get into a book and say that i can make a collection of that after, like, three lines. one time i did an existentialist collection years ago, and i was thinking, so i read a book to no more, to get into it, and sometimes, the explanation can teach you. i read about it and i learned and understood. so i did the collection with my interpretation. i tried to understan
