it does help i am on the building access committee, so i get access legislation as it comes through. unfortunately, it is not enough right now. we just do not have enough to go after the brunt of the property and sometimes you are dealing with historical buildings and they have to change part of the facade and make the door wider because a wheelchair won't go through the door. some businesses have 28 inch front doors. you cannot change the whole front of a building, but there are some people who believe that you definitely have to and we have seen property owners try to help people into their buildings with wheelchair's. we want to help, but it is trying to get all of the entities together now that this has become a major issue with the historical preservation society and the public right of way. i want to bring in the mayor's office on disability. >> and get somebody who sits on the -- >> they will be invited definitely. this is part of trying to help small businesses after our staff is trained. there will be 40 people trained on the program. we are not guaranteeing all will pass, b

i would like for all of you to -- access to mental health care services. today's hearing built upon two hearings held last year. at each of the previous hearings, the committee heard from the va how accessible mental health care services were. this was inconsistent with what we heard from veterans and the va mental health care providers. so last year, following the july hearing, i asked the department to survey its own mental health care providers to get a better assessment of the situation. the results, as we all know were less than satisfactory. could not schedule an appointment in their own clinic -- over 40% could not schedule an established payment within 14 days of their desired appointment and 70% reported inadequate staffing or space to meet the mental health care needs. the second hearing held in november looked at the discrepancy between what the va was helding us and what the providers were saying. we heard from a va provider and a mental health expert. at last november's hearing, i announced that i would be asking va's office of inspector gener

this is a funded study that will look at freeway access to the area. and what ways are available to reduce the amount of freeway access ramps in the area to reduce the impact. this grant and the study does include support for the balboa area, and the advisory committee. we will be supporting that along with the staff. with brisbane in daly city -- chester fung has been leading this effort to allocate the fair share of financial contributions to a large infrastructure program. we will be bringing that report to you shortly. we anticipate initiating the feasibility study, which will look at the rail conversion options to support the future will use of that infrastructure. the freeway circulation study may not be obvious that there is a connection here as well. we will reduce the contents and reduce speed -- with increasing the bicycle and pedestrian access. restoring this to the pre- central freeway, the earthquake conditions. we will be applying for planning grant, to advance these concepts. and there is the 19th avenue transit corridor. the operations
