members of the homeless group say officers that have stopped by have been very kind and accommodatin g. they say they'll continue their protest for, "as long as it takes". in cedar rapids, forrest saunders, kcrg-tv9 news. a woman is at university of iowa hospitals and clinics this morning with serious injuries after jumping from a car. cedar rapids police responded to the one hundred block of kohawk street southwest around 10 last night. they are still investigating why she jumped. a waterloo couple and their infant child are hurt after a semi-truck driver made a u-turn through a median. black hawk county sheriff deputies responded to the intersection of highway 63 and mount vernon road around 6 o'clock last night. 50-year-old mark shaw was going northbound on the highway when he tried to make a u-turn. that's when the family in their car hit the semi truck. they were all taken to the hospital but are expected to be okay. in a tv-9 follow-up this morning.. emergency responders took a pedestrian to uihc after a car hit him while he was crossing the street. this is now the second time a
