>> jim acosta at the white house. let's bring in our congressional correspondent who is also working this story. sunlan, based on all the reporting that you and your colleagues have done, what comes next? >> that's all going to be discussed on a phone call potentially later tonight and could happen at any mom between the three side, senator grassley's staff and the staff for senator dianne feinstein and the attorneys for the accuser, dr. ford. this was a phone cam specifically requested today in an e-mail from dr. ford's attorney, and she requested specifically that they discuss the conditions for ford's potential testimony in front of the committee. of course, it's, again, worth repeating and worth highlighting again that the conditions for the last 40 hours have been the realisticing point here. we've seen them grapple over the who, whether it would be just dr. ford or judge kavanaugh and other outside witnesses, the where, where in california or here or another location and the when, of course, a big question. the

cnn's jim acosta joins us now. what did the president say? >> reporter: not a lot of anger management on capitol hill today. the one person showing restraint was the president. he didn't really weigh in on all of this until late in the day when he issued this tweet. he said he found the testimony from brett kavanaugh to be compelling, honest, riveting and said it's time to vote. vice president mike pence put out a similar tweet saying he stands with brett kavanaugh and it's now time to call for a vote. but the tweets that everyone was paying attention to today were issued by sarah sanders and kellyanne conway at the white house when they were celebrating lindsey graham's performance when he lashed out at senate democrats. that was a moment here at the white house when they saw this thing turning. >> jim acosta, thank you very much. as you saw at the top, both witnesses gave gripping testimony. right now, i want to play a little more of what dr. ford had to say. >> he had a good time because he was very inebriated and because i was wearing a o

jim acosta, new york.hank you. >>> we have more breaking news on brett kavanaugh's reaction to the second woman now accusing him of sexual misconduct. let's go to our congressional spornlt phil mattingly. what is the latest? >> reporter: a congressional source said this afternoon brett kavanaugh, the supreme court nominee, had a phone call with republican staff on the senate judiciary committee to explicitly discuss the allegations from deborah ramirez. a source says he denied those allegations, much like he did in the "fox news" interview last night. the source also made clear the committee has been going back and forth with deborah ramirez's lawyer, trying to set up a conversation there as well. at this point nothing has come to fruition on that front and it is worth noting at this point the committee has no plans to invite deborah ramirez to testify at the thursday hearing. however, they have had the discussion with brett kavanaugh and, wolf, brett kavanaugh once again denied all of the allegations that
