we call all of these laws ada, but really ada is one aspect of the federal laws. there are five or six statutes, depending on the specifics of the case. there are a series of overlapping laws, all of which require essentially the same thing. did different measures of damages and other things. the lawyers will sue you on these various labels. they all really say the same thing. the purpose of that letter is to establish damages. the first thing to do when you get that letter is to have your place it inspected. if you have done so, let the person know that you have had the place inspected. that makes the case go away. certainly, it lessens the likelihood you were going to be sued. if you need more time, talk to the tenants or talk to the person suing you, sending you the letter. get some additional time. they do not have elyria. what you need to do is find out what your rights are, and if you need to make repairs or remediations, do it because you are going to have to do it sometime during the course of litigation if there is a problem with access to your premises,

that's in line with the ada recommendation. this means that the city would make it easier for us to find parking nearby. i've done my own informal surveys around the greater civic area and found a lot of problems with people parking in blue zones or in accessible loading zones and not getting tickets and not displaying the placard. but mta's already [inaudible] add more blue zones. that's something we can do. we don't need state approval, authority or money for this. the next slide to increase enforcement of placard abuse, and here again this doesn't require any state law change, but because we talked to the head of security for mta and they gave us the stats on how long and difficult it is to enforce, they're adding three more pco's to the placard detail. we also want the dmv to find a way to code in to the placard number the photo id of the placard holder. right now most people either have a california id, a california driver's license or for seniors and disabled we also have this photo id card that allows for a discount on t

the passage of the ada showed a united america. republicans and democrats standing up together for the right of disabled persons. america's leadership inspired many around the world to seek justice and fairness for disability communities in their own countries. unfortunately, our laws do not follow servicemembers and veterans when they are outside u.s. borders. when they travel abroad they are often jilted by leaving our nation that does everything in the power to support our wounded warriors. i traveled to asia earlier this year. i saw firsthand how even countries are moving forward economically are not keeping pace with the necessary protections for disabled persons. for example, disabilities groups they met with told me about the challenges they face in trying to make public buses wheelchair assessable. it's a sad fact that in many countries around the world that disabled are hidden, committed to be an embarrassment, and not afforded the accommodation they need to lead productive lives. nopes surprising when disabled americans t
