bathrooms. imagine the seats pulled out of a muni bus. we've all been on one of those buses. you can see how large it is. the front part of the bus is an adaower stall, so you can imagine if someone needs to get on the bus with a wheelchair, they can do so with the lift ramp the same way that you hop onto a muni bus. there are shower locations for the homeless in the city, but this is the first mobile unit. the goal is to reach half of the people living on the street. we spoke with the founder about the moment she came up with the idea. >> i talked to a young woman on the street one day. she was homeless and dirty and she kept saying over and over that she would never be clean. i knew that meant a lot of things i would never understand. but i wondered what had that meant for her superficially. i went home that night and did some research and found out about the appalling lack of showers and toilets. >> reporter: from there, she thought if gourmet food trucks can be made to roll around the city, why not a shower bus? hence, lava mae was born. the water is paid for by the organization. they are hooked up to a city fire hydrant, so this is a
