an update on ada presentations. the working solutions was very interested in receiving information to figure out what they are doing. they are one of the very first mirrors involving loan fund -- mayors involving loan funds. how can they better prepare their businesses that are receiving loans from them about this particular issue? we have the 1-page information sheet and the tax credit deduction information in several languages including english and the supplemental information going out to restaurants. there was a supplemental mailing doing some quick highlights of what the ada is. be concerned. and contact our office. and what we're able to assist them with. that went out in six languages. that helped with the renewal for the food industry. today, i just received an e-mail from the department of justice that they are revising the requirements for ada that goes into effect. there are new regulations that will be dealing with public accommodations including stores, restaurants, shopping malls, sporting arenas, doct

presentation. just a couple of questions -- the numbers that i saw here with regard to the ada reductions, there were three scenarios. one was a flat situation where it would be a reduction of $19 per ada. the second was the $330, and you laid out another one, which is if it wasn't all cuts budget, potentially $825. just wondering what the $330 [inaudible] what assumption is that tied to? >> that is what -- the failure to extend the temporary taxes -- let's say the temporary tax extension would have brought in additional revenue to the state of $3.4 million. -- billion dollars. of which, $2.1 billion would have been to fund k-12 education. failure of that tax extension, the $2.1 billion shortfall now translates into a cut of $330 per ada for all school districts. >> the $330 is basically the interpretation of losing the $2.1 billion across the state and education. ok, and the $825 reduction, is that assuming that all of the cuts are in education? >> that will be assuming an all cuts budget. education would also be cut by anything from $4 billion to $5 billion. supervisor chu: my next question has to

thank you for your presentation and on behalf of all the people that can benefit from any change of the ease of the permit rules. the justification for this, the increased size on the ada makes me inclined to support it. the fact that it does not supersede a local neighborhood controls that can be very specific for the historic neighborhoods, they all have their different dynamic. i believe that an open flame should be permitted pretty well. but i hope we don't have the tangle of reservations. a lot of this is really cleaning up years and years of different rules, going one on top of the other without the corresponding weeding of those rules. i also believe that the government should follow the people, the government is the servant of the people. the people are developing business plans and business models, responding to this economy. they are responding to this society. we have young people coming in and working 14 hours a day. they don't cook for themselves anymore, and there are all kinds of places springing out just to take care of the population. we have this need it that the business community is responding to. i really believe our government should be responding
