adachi was 59 years old. abc 7 news reporter dan noyes has more. >> reporter: i spoke with san francisco city and county officials. they're saddened and stunned by jeff adachi's death. he leaves behind a wife and a daughter. this police report provids new details of what happened friday evening. the incident report obtained by the abc 7 i-team says a female who identity herself at cat caterina called 911 at 5:41 p.m. friday. police responded. but the officers, now en route, were called off. the medical examiner's office telling them they did not have reason to believe it was a crime scene but the death was still under investigation. officers deemed that to be suspicious, so they continued to the ground floor apartment, took these pictures and spoke with witnesses. one woman told police she had known adachi for ten years, that he asked to use the apartment, and she gave him keys. that same woman told police she received a call from caterina who sounded hysterical and told her something was wrong with jeff. cat

he told police adachi started complaining about feeling ill over dinner. she told officers she went to the store to get medication for the public defender. he later became unresponsive and she used his cell phone to call for help. gonzalez says at this point he would like to see the investigation play out rather than succumb to rumors. >> there is no evidence that there were drugs involved. there is no evidence that there was prostitution. what you have is someone that had dinner, had some wine, and, in effect, died of a heart attack. >> reporter: across the aisle for the prosecution, district attorney george gascon began a news conference today for a show of respect for his sometime adversary. >> i would ask if we could have a moment of silence for jeff adachi. i want to say a few words about him afterwards. >> reporter: to honor a man he said he didn't always agree with but always respected. >> his legacy could probably be summed up in this. you know, jeff was fierce in his pursue for justice as he felt that it was appropriate. >> reporter: gascon saying
