adam: would you go used or new? >> i go new. adam: why would you go new?ars that are coming out. for me it is basic transportation. i would go more into the luxury end. adam: jean, i will bring up an issue. i love hunting for a used cars. i think best deals are on used cars. you're in detroit. you see all the beautiful new vehicles up there but you can get them cheaper a few years after they're introduced. what would you prefer, new or used? >> it is funny. i have always had new cars but i bought a lot of used cars in the past. i always recommend that you look at used cars. especially if they haven't been changed in a year or so. because the minute you drive them out of a dealership they have lost quite a bit of value. lori: yeah. >> why pay for that? why pay for that at all. lori: interesting. alex, are gas prices a factor for buyers? you were quoted pointing out younger buyers, new graduates are buying smaller cars to save on gas costs. is that a factor? how much so making a decision whether you're going instead of new or used, bigger or smaller? >> yeah

adam: robert, thanks for joining us. >> thank you, adam. we're 15 minutes or so away from the latest fed decision. let's check the markets as we do that every 15 minutes as well. mark newton from the floor of the stock exchange. stocks barely are staying in the green but what is the word on the floor? where would you say the general concensus is on the taper debate, sent or later? >> we think it will be sent but we haven't seen any economic improvement to justify what the fed said to start tapering in terms of unemployment or growth. this morning's gdp numbers came up substantially higher but got revision from q 1. it was substantially lower. we don't have that to justify. a lot of smart people say it has to happen sooner than later. one comfort we're seeing value of leveraged loans and also, the fact that these have come down substantially over the last month suggests that the fed is very much at comfort with qe and that shouldn't probably go away anytime soon. we're quiet here. lori: is the fed move priced in since we're seeing very littl

adams, i would provide to mr. adams a piece of paper that says that i would like to propose a particular flexible working arrangement. and the president would then have an opportunity within a few weeks to give me some feedback on that to either accept that suggestion or to deny it. based on various business reasons. and if i would prefer to have a different answer than the one that mr. adams gave me, i would have the opportunity under this legislation to request a meeting. that is it. that is what we are talking about. now, when employers have granted employees a more flexible working arrangement, there are good things that come out from that. as you can imagine the employees who receive these arrangements they are happier employees and they are more productive employees and more satisfied employees and more loyal employees. and what hr studies have shown in these sorts of arrangements the number of absentee rates go down and the turnover rates go down. and studies have shown that this actually positively impacts
