. >> let's talk to gb news reporter adam cherry, who joins us from the eye of the storm yesterday at ast pontypridd in south wales. adam, are they recovering mopping up or is there more to come ? there more to come? >> yeah. morning, guys. it's a little bit calmer this morning than it has been over the weekend. just even getting here was was very difficult, as you said, or as you heard during the news bulletins, a lot of rail closures and a lot of difficulty with travelling. so just to get here took us about 3.5 hours via car. our train was cancelled. now we're here. things are starting to calm down the riverbed. we're standing next to the river taff, over my right shoulder. in the last 24 hours, that rose very quickly broke the bank and several of the streets to my right, just off camera, were flooded. there were some flood defences in place because they did have a bit of an advance warning. but nonetheless, when mother nature takes hold, of course it's devastating. now, storm dennis, about four years ago was a was a similar experience for the people here. so they are a bit frustrate

>> well, let's get the very latest from adam cherry, who joins us from pontypridd, one of the worst affected areas. good morning to you. just tell us about what it's like where you are this morning guys. >> well, we arrived late last night and actually it tells the story just in terms of how we got here. we were supposed to arrive by train from london. all those trains were cancelled, so we had to drive. took us about 3.5 hours. and on that drive, basically through the west of england into wales, some of the toughest conditions i've seen. it was very wet, very, very rainy. and now, now that we're here, we're by the river taff. and just over to my left shoulder is a street where hundreds of homes have been affected. they were bailing out water yesterday and many of them were criticising the met office and the welsh government for not giving them advance warning. enough of a warning and saying that they didn't have time to make preparations. bailing out water. as i say, 300 homes affected. to my right is the library, which is acting as a sort of support hub , and there sort of support hub, and
