adam driver as kylo ren, the whole concept of the light and the dark side of that character is amazinglove the new characters as well, played by kelly marie tran. also laura dern has my favorite arc in this entire film. now, on the negative side, i did not like the direction that luke skywalker was taken in this film. i thought he was unnecessarily comedic and very grumpy, and in my opinion, it felt like the director was making a mockery of the big scenes the fans were looking forward to, specifically the end of "the force awakens," when we see rey handing that lightsaber to luke. we were wondering what's gonna happen in episode viii, and in my opinion, the version that happens in this film, in "the last jedi," reminded me of what "snl" would've done wit that scene. and i was just very, very confused as to the direction they took. i think that the luke and the rey element could've been written better, and i also felt the first act was a bit slow. i give it a 3.5 out of 5. but the more i'm thinking about it, the more i really dislike it. i will be seeing it again over the holidays and i

laura dern, adam driver, the score by john williams.ve side i think this film found it unnecessarily comedic tone. i did not like the direction they took luke skywalker. i won't spoil anything but at the end of episode vii, the left film, there was a cliffhanger when ray is bringing luke the light saber and you want to know what happens next and in my opinion the thing that happens after that at the beginning of his new film wasn't the way i wanted it to play out. a little bit unnecessarily comedic in my opinion and the first act is a little bit slow. it is a good star wars film, i liked it but didn't love it. looking at the grand scheme, the empire strikes back, a new hope, the force awakens, return of the jedi, this film and rogue one. it is a solid film, 2 and half hours long, i want to see it again for a second opinion but wish it was a better star wars movie, i give up 3.5 out of 5. jillian: not a rave review, have a good weekend. rob: the white house and the press calling a truce on piegate for christmas. >> reach out to all of us

performance wise, adam driver is phenomenal as kylo ren, i love that conflict of the light and dark sidea dern character , jon williams score is fantastic. it is a fun ride. two and a half hours long. let me get to the negative. negative side of this movie, in my opinion, at the end of the episode seven we have a scene where ray is handing luke the light saber. big question is what will happen next in episode eight. i really felt it was a bit of a let down what happens next in the film with the character i also thought they made luke skywalker a grumpy unnecessar ily comedic character and in effect complete tone of the move any my opinion. i think first act is too slow, i liked this film, i just didn't love it. i gave it 3.5 out of five. when you are looking at star wars if i would rang them empires strikes back, then a new hope, then force awakens, return of the jedi, this film, which is last jedi, and then r ogue1 and prequels. not a bad film. i think star wars fans will enjoy it. i just didn't love movie like i wanted to. at end of the episode seven i could in the wait for episode eig

i love adam driver as kylo dresden. i love kelly wawrn. the cinematography.cal effects and cgi masterfully. those are the positives for the last jedi. now we have to get to the negatives; unfortunately we have to get to the negatives here. in my opinion the first act of this movie is way too slow. did i not like the direction they took luke sky walker. in my opinion at the end of episode 7 we see this scene when ray walks up to leukemileukemia luke skywalk up. hes did not need to be a grumpy, unnecessarily comedic character. that was a really, really poor direction in my opinion to go with that particular scene. also, it just didn't feel at the end of the movie i wanted to see another episode. at the end of episode 7 i couldn't wait for 8. steve: how many stars. ainsley: you really like it. how many stars? >> i gave it a 3.5 out of 5. it's a stylish "star wars" film not a great "star wars" film. it's 2 and a half hours. you will enjoy yourself. i just didn't love it as much as the force awakens. i will say empire strikes back. new hope. return of the jedi, fo
