and joining us news from oroville, fox news correspondent adam housley. adam has been with us for most night and will likely be with us until the wee hours of the morning here on the west coast. what's latest from your vantage point? what have you been able to see since we last talked? reporter: the dam basically if you draw a diagonal line from the dam straight from sacramento after you pass oroville, the next major location would be the yuba city-marysville area. that's where we are downstream on the feather river. if there was an issue with the spillway, they said it would have been a 30-foot wall of water that would have reached here four hours later and would have inundated much of this area. this area has over 100,000 people when you add them both together. we are told about 70% evacuated. when i was driving here i saw 5 miles of bumpe bumper to bumper traffic. they are trying to assess the situation. but we know the good news is they believe they stopped the erosion taking place on the emergency spillway which is not really a spillway, it's not ceme
