meteorologist a am cloths -- adam klotz is tracking that storm. what's the timeline, adam? storm we're looking at in the middle of this upcoming week. it sits just off the coast of the yucatan peninsula. the timeline, pretty good agreement as where this is going to head as it starts to move north. several models stretching along the gulf coast, the florida gulf coast, maybe running over towards portions of alabama or mississippi. still a little early to know where this will be making landfall, but the timeline currently we're looking at this getting to coast perhaps on wednesday. now, it continues intensifying. you notice here the winds will increase from currently a tropical storm, our forecast runs it to a category one or category two storm, maybe close to it anyway as it gets close to landfall on wednesday. 80, 90 mile-an-hour winds as it runs over warmer water before making landfall and currently running off across georgia and over towards the carolinas. what's it going to do besides just all of that wind? going to be bringing rain across the region, and that's somethin

i want to get to adam klotz. here our -- one of our meteorologists in the extreme weather center. , still moving ashore. >> yes, a massive storm. you've been showing videos and pictures hundreds of miles away from each other. you don't have to be near the eye to be feeling the effects. there's rain falling in tampa, now close to atlanta. so a massive storm all associated with this. the eye wall -- remember, when the eye came on shore, winds of 155 miles an hour. we're getting close to the state line, alabama, georgia. winds still at 150 miles an hour. we're an hour drive north is where the storm would be if you're in a car. we're still talking about a category four storm. it's powerful and not weakening a lot because it's on land. here's some of the recent wind gusts. even as we move off the shore, still seeing winds at times up in the mid 60s. we had a recent one there in apalachicola. that was just completely taken down. that typically happens when you get winds closer to triple digits. you lose the sensors because the winds are so strong. not surprised that happened in apalachic

adam klotz joins me with the very latest on michael from the weather center. , this thing has blown up very quickly and could be indeed a major, major storm. >> ash you're absolutely right. it is now a hurricane, liking jumping up to a major hurricane hitting off the coast of cuba. it is running off very warm water in the gulf of mexico next couple days. no surprise we have advisories popping up. hurricane watches from pensacola all the way down through the big bend in florida. really the florida pan hand dell you need to peep here is the timeline it moves from category 1 to cat 2, possibly running up to a cat-3, which means winds of up to 120 miles an hour. this is location is 8:00 a.m., just off the coast of the florida panhandle at that point. we have couple days to watch it move a little bit. it strengthens because it runs over such warm water. you need 80 degrees to support a hurricane. it is bathtub water. 85 degrees across the entire area. it will pick up moisture and pick up strength. it's a little earlier, we don't know exactly where landfall will be.

let's go to adam klotz for details. >> already a growing storm, getting up to this point, category one. we are up to 90 miles an hour. this is the latest update. 6 miles an hour below, your wind speed, category 2 storm. it's going to intensify and we're going to be jumping up to category 2 eventually. advisories stretching from portions of panama city towards the big bend and florida. hurricane force conditions are going to be moving in. currently, category 1, jumping up to a cat 2. eventually category three transform flow wins at 115 to 120 miles an hour, likely heading overnight to tomorrow before making landfall wednesday morning. this is looking like a wednesday morning landfall right along the gulf coast. we have several models and there is still room for wiggle. the farthest we're looking for to the west movie pensacola. a lot of these models running into panama city beach, florida. those will be the areas we are paying attention to. that's just worthy i wall will fall. pay attention to the time-stamp. the larger circle, tropical storm force winds happening through the overnight

fox news meteorologist adam klotz live in the weather center. it is a two now, adam.uess it could go up to a three, right? >> it is really knocking on the door for category 3. 111 miles an hour is category 3. that it is basically right there. maybe next update it will climb to a category 3 storm. that won't be it. winds will get higher. plenty of areas under hurricane watches. everything back here, tropical storm advisories. red areas where conditions are the worst. stretching from pensacola, panama city, apalachicola, florida big bend, a lot of areas dealing with a lot of big issues. one of those is the winds that arrive overnight. jumps up to a category 3 with those winds, perhaps 125 miles an hour. very strong winds. you notice those early tomorrow morning. landfall probably around lunchtime or the early around. still little bit of time for that to change. we're targeting 1:00 as a time we see this moving onshore. eventually running across the carolinas, an area where they obviously don't need more rain. won't get heaviest rain. impact is farther south. will get mo

adam klotz, we know this is faster storm than florence.of devastation are we expecting at this point? >> you're right about the faster storm. that will change what we see here a lot much remember florence sat there and spun and spun, got 40 inches of rain. that is not what this system is. more of the wind. 110 mile-an-hour. that is one mile-an-hour below category 3. it eventually will get there. a large area hurricane warning from pensacola, panama beach, extending to the big bend in florida. all years highlighted in red where conditions are absolutely at peak. currently sitting category 2 but the forecast as it runs over the warm waters of the gulf, wind up to 125 miles an hour as we approach landfall, think around lunchtime or early afternoon hours, landfall right around the panama city area. there is a little bit of wiggle room where it makes landfall. it is faster moving storm than previous ones like for florence we saw. strongest winds are right around the core here. that is one p.m. on wednesday. most of the other activity is happeni

fox news meteorologist adam klotz is in the weather center with the latest. is growing, right, adam? >> david, you're right, it is growing and looking more and more it will be a big storm. winds at 80 miles an hour. cat gather 1 hurricane off coast of cuba. it will run over warm waters that will allow it to intensify next couple days. our hurricane watch stretches from pensacola across the entire florida gulf panhandle, florida big bend. you will see hurricane-like conditions late tuesday night throughout wednesday, some of the day on wednesday. you see, we jump up from the cat-1 to a cat-2. as you get off the coast, likely category 3 storm, winds of 120 miles an hour. if it gets landfall at category 3, that would be strongest landfall in the united states atlantic basin. early wednesday morning just off the coast. you need 80-degree waters to fuel these. 85 degrees across the gulf of mexico. it is bath water. that will allow it to strengthen. here is tropical models. there is still time of indecision. this is the eye of the storm perhaps in the pensacola area

adam klotz has been following it adam? >> yeah. you are absolutely right. likely going to get worse. probably intensifying up to a category 3. it is still sitting at category 1 and going to be intensifying. at least forecasted for the next couple hours. voters already in place advisories in effect. all spots where hurricane. category 1 likely to category 2. getting up to a category 3. that is now wednesday at 8:00 a.m. so just off the coast that's when winds are getting up to 120 miles per hour as it gets closer and closer to working its way on shore. you need 80-degree temperatures to kind of fuel these things. what we are looking at gulf temperatures currently closer to 85 degrees. the heat is there. it's going to allow this to continue to pick up. now, there is a little bit of indecision still in the models. this is a run of all the models and each one of these lines would be the center of the storm. several taking you over towards pensacola others getting you farther off towards the east closer to getting over towards panama city or even farther east ap

meteorologist adam klotz live in the fox extreme weather center. hey there, adam. >> hey, shepard. it is a big storm and intensifying quickly from a tropical storm this morning to category 1 off the coast of cuba. it's going to be running over warm water and that's going to allow it to strengthen. we already have advisories being issued and hurricane watch is in place from pence pensacola stretching to the big ben of florida. currently looking at the best chance of seeing some of these hurricane type conditions. here is your forecast. and you notice it goes from category 1 up to cat 2. by the time we get into wednesday morning off the panhandle now a category 3 storm. which means winds up to 120 miles per hour. again that is early wednesday morning. things will begin to deteriorate several hours before that, tuesday night throughout the day on wednesday it is running over warm water. you need 80-degree temperatures to support a hurricane. well, this is bathtub water. 58 degrees in plenty of places across the gulf of mexico. so it is going to continue to fuel and get stronger. pick

adam klotz has the latest following this monster storm. it seems to get bigger by the minute. >> yeah it is not done growing yet, neil. it is category 2. it takes 111 mile-an-hour winds to be category 3. we'll get up to the category 3 status by the time it makes landfall. no surprise we have hurricane warnings up and down the west coast of florida big bend and these conditions will be worse, covering larger areas with heavy rains and winds over the course of the next 18 to 24 hours. here is the path. you go from category 2, jumps up to category 3. approaching landfall early wednesday morning, making lan fall into early afternoon hours once the gets on to land it will weaken and bring all the rain and wind and storm surge as it approaches that direction. here is the hour by hour future radar. center of circulation. we're knocking on the door of landfall at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. that is wednesday afternoon. right outside of panama city beach. everything on eastern half of the storm where the worst weather is. clear off to the western side

something adam klotz with us, barely 24 hours ago predicted could be a problem. adam, to your point it's a problem. what is the latest? >> this is becoming a bigger and bigger storm, neil. when this gets close to the storm it weakens and shakes up a little bit. this is the eyewall beginning to run onshore. just as critical clear it has been in the entire time. the storm is staying strong even as it approaches land, beginning to run towards land. the winds are strongest on eastern side of this, these are wind gusts, looking at apalachicola getting up to 90 miles-an-hour. that will strongly climb. the strongest winds are not there, getting wind up to 90 miles an hour. those will do damage. these are current radars on the ground can bring you in. each one of these bands, packing wind gusts, even outside of the center of this system, but you get into some of these bands of rain, you're still talking about gusts of wind getting up to 75 to 85 miles an hour. very strong winds, extending from the eyewall. here is your eyewall. not yet actually onshore but the worst weath

the latest right now on all of this from our own meteorologist adam klotz. what are we looking at?looking at a strengthening storm getting closer and closer at this point to the coast. likely around lunchtime tomorrow. sitting currently at category 2 level storm. i do want to take weather 7 for the folks in the control room. that's what i'm going to need. what we are looking at right now is the path where we will jump from a category 2 storm up to a category 3 storm. you see ittrength. when will this be making landfall? we are talking about a landfall probably around tomorrow morning at least seeing early conditions. 8:00 a.m. landfall closer to lunchtime. still beginning to weaken. indecision with current track as we follow anywhere here off towards the eastern edge of it maybe apalachicola, farther off to the western edge of this closer to panama city. that's where a lot of these models are taking this. and we remember the front right quadrant that's where you see the worst of this. what will it ultimately bring. see anywhere 8 to 12 inches of rain as this storm continues to move
