fox weather meteorologist adam klotz is here now9 with the forecast. adam. adam: hey, jon. got a new update from the national hurricane center just an hour ago. this storm is continuing to sit off the coast of the yucatan peninsula. not a lot of movement so far. there the have been tropical storm warnings across areas of mexico as this system's been something we've been paying very close attention to as it kind of sits there stuck, moving there just 3 miles an hour. here are our storm paths as the storm, ultimately, is going to lift up through the gulf of mexico. you see all of those paths ultimately taking it into the big bend of florida. there's still a little bit of time where you could see this moving to the north here in the next 12 hours or so. that's why we have our cone of uncertainty, but it gives us a good idea of where this forecast is ultimately going to be. that is wednesday at 1 a.m., winds at 100 miles an hour make this a category two hurricane, and you're looking at an area between tampa and over towards pan panama i city or apalachicola, all areas where the

meteorologist adam klotz has the forecast, kick it off for us. >> adam: major storm system and one they almost never see. right off the coast of mexico, water off the coast of mexico, these waters are very warm, this will run into colder waters of southern california and weaken the system, what a powerful one. wind 145 mile per hour and moving west northwest at 13 mile per hour. probably as strong as this will get, but it is a strong storm. typically the system run into the pacific ocean, not the case this time. wind will force this along the coast. as you run further north, i told you the waters will get colder and the strength falls down. by saturday, winds down to 120 miles per hour and by sunday morning, moving down. ton of moisture, by monday morning, likely making landfall, somewhere around there, if it makes landfall and will bring rain. it will be a big moisture bringer. darker orange color, three to five inches, there will be spots that get eight to continue inches of rain in areas that see almost no rain in august. flooding will be the biggest concern. we have flash flood here

first were going to go to meteorologist adam klotz at the "fox weather" center. how's it looking? >> still early in this. we are see the storm continued to come together just sitting there messily right now off the coast of mexico the yucatÁn peninsula for tropical storm warnings have now started to be issued along that area as you are looking at popular destinations like cozumel up to cancÚn. all currently under the tropical storm warnings. this system is not moved but jill is 24 hours it's about to lift up into the gulf of mexico and as it does so pick up some warm waters and intensify and move it's what ultimately to the coast. you are looking at a time line here, by the time you get into late tuesday early wednesday morning that's when you look at discount running up along the big bend over toward portions of the panhandle for it may be down towards tampa but there's plenty of time for the forecast track to work itself out a little bit. you are looking at wind that 90 miles an hour. tough to forecast how strong is going to get that's a strong category one hurricane. i could in

let's go back to adam klotz. we has more on where hurricane idalia is heading the next few hours. hi, adam. >> yeah, still a widespread storm. despite where the center of the storm is, we're currently seeing a number of radar observed tornadoes firing up. so these are tornado warnings. we've had one confirmed in the charleston, south carolina area. it's right along this line of storms that these have been spinning up. tornados will continue to be a threat here throughout the afternoon, the evening hours. this is with some of the outer bands. the center of circulation, you can continue to see spin through georgia. the heaviest rain is on the northern side. still a category one hurricane as we speak. we do expect this to continue to weaken falling down to a tropical storm. the wind gusts are still strong, particularly on the dirty side of this storm where you see the numbers climbing up to the mid 40s. we've seen them jump as high as the 60s and then hilton head island, it's knocked out that sensor entirely. so the winds are still powerful with this system. those winds wrapping aroun

adam klotz has the fox weather forecast. >> adam: we continue to see this storm forecast to intensifyng to what you are talking about. it was forecast to be category 2 storm, it could get up to category 3, making it a major hurricane. little movement off the coast, still sitting off the coast of cozumel and cancun. the winds continue to intensify, that would be category 3 hurricane wednesday morning at 1 a.m. landfall coming wednesday to early in the morning between 1 a.m. and probably sunrise depending where this track is, this is the cone of uncertainty, it could make landfall around tampa. all the folks will see impact. you are looking at tropical storm watches or hurricane watches up and down florida. storm surge is a main concern and includes the entire area. it will bring a wall of water with it. on the higher end, getting up into the higher area, nine feet of sturge in seven to 11 foot range. along the coast, it is not going to be where it makes landfall. raining, flooding, a real concern, from four to eight inches, folks getting 12 inches of rain will cause flooding. >> todd:

. >> ashley: turn to meteorologist adam klotz, it ep coos getting worse and worse. >> adam: it does.uests are talking about the howling winds. that is the case when you talk about big fires, most deadly wildfire in the last 100 years is the maui wildfire. you think about the santa ana fires. we saw wind up to 80 to 82 mile per hour. 50 to 60's, 70 mile winds have driven this. currently, calmer wind and temperatures 70 to 75 degrees, rain off and on, not showers that are going to put out remaining wildfires. winds have calmed down, you are seeing five to ten miles per hour and up to 18 miles per hour. it has been windier there on the western side because wind is forced up over the mountains and ush ared down dryer on the other side. look at the forecast, winds 10 to 20 to 30 mile per hour. significantly less than the other day. cause concern continue to battle the wildfires, ultimately, there is rain on the way over next seven days. any sort of rain would be good news, tough for clean of had up efforts, there are a couple fires on the island they need to battle. moisture is good. >> c

we want to get to fox weather's adam klotz live in the fox weather center. . what's the bull's eye for landfall? where's it heading now? >> reporter: we're still targeting the florida big bend sometime tomorrow, but it was a category one hurricane, and just a minute ago it has been bumped up to a category two hurricane. so it's running over very warm water. we still anticipate this storm is going to strengthen, ultimately getting to a category three hurricane. winds so far already up to 60 miles an hour. remember, we're talking about this storm getting stronger and making landfall sometime tomorrow, so there's plenty of time for this to strengthen. it is still well out to sea, and there are big thunderstorms already across or portions of south florida because of the outer bands of rain battering the shore. again, this isn't the heart of the storm, that's still yet to come. now, those outer bands could at times spin up tornadoes. with we've seen that that already happen. the entire state is under a tornado threat as we speak. this is the forecast, you asked me

let's go to meteorologist adam klotz with the latest on this storm. what can you tell us? >> reporter: a powerful storm running into colder water and moving faster. what are we looking at? category 3 storm, winds one hundred 25 miles an hour. those winds will die down as a boost to the north, that water is colder, warm water pool these storms, that is what ultimately let's these storms become more powerful. we expect this to weaken but that will bring a ton of moisture. when you talk about earlier landfall what you are looking at is sunday morning. winds 80 miles an hour. that's a landfall in the baja peninsula. still running into southern california. more so sunday evening into overnight monday. those initial bands of rain are going to be there you will see a lot of rain, the center of the storm moving in. in this area you are going to see rain much earlier than you initially thought. sunday evening, the center of circulation moving into southern california. the leading edge is going to be here and we are looking at a big area with tropical storm warning, first time this

let's bring in adam klotz from the fox weather center. good evening, adam.morning all the way across into south carolina but what's it look like. >> it has been a long trek and still looking all the way through tonight ultimately into thursday. here is what you are seeing winds at 70 miles per hour. it is a tropical storm now moving at 21 miles per hour. fairly quick moving system that center of circulation why are talking about is approaching that georgia south carolina line. now, all of these winds you are seeing gusting up to 30, 40, 50 miles per hour wrapping around the system and actually pushing the atlantic ocean up along the sea. that's the where you see the possibility of a storm surge. we talked about the storm surge up and down the west coast. we are now talking been 00 about the southeastern coast high tide 8:47 this evening. maybe a storm surge of 3, 4, 5 feet in some of these locations. of course, as the storm drifts to the north that storm surge is going to continue to push north 3 to 4 feet. that's less than they saw on the west coast of flor

let's check in with meteorologist adam klotz for our fox weather forecast. >> horrible situation therebout this being the deadliest wildfire in the last 100 years, the rest of the list call california, the reason for that, when you think thabout the warm santa ana wind. the winds really push the fires. wind reports getting up to 80 miles an hour so the winds ran rampant. the winds have fallen significantly, from 5 to 15-mile-an-hour winds is what the folks are currently experiencing now as we get into the weekend, maybe those numbers climb back up a little bit in the forecast model but even at the highest, talking 20 to 30-mile-an-hour winds so significantly calmer conditions now than what they dealt with when the fires got going. maui has been the dryest island, continues to be the dryest. the rest of the hig hawaiian iss a little higher on the rainfall totals. rain is on the way for everybody and you see the darker colors, maui is actually the island that will see the most rain so conditions certainly are improving across the region and that is going to help firefighters who are out

. >> ainsley: check in with meteorologist adam klotz for fox weather forecast. her tore story. >> it is absolutely horrible. this is what maui looked like from satellite just a couple days ago and take you to today. you see these big scars from these giant wildfires the weather conditions that kind of set this up. largely had to do with some of the wind conditions that we just heard her speaking about. now, here overnight, mostly calmed down, you are looking at winds 5 to 6 miles per hour. there is one gust out there 23 miles per hour. winds were way stronger whether these fires originally got going. they will pick up again a little bit today. remember those winds were up to 40, 50, 60 miles per hour. here over the next couple of days 10 on the high end up to 3. those are powerful winds. can still move fires just a little bit backed off from where we are. also the big factor in this how dry the island is. rainfall totals for the season across the entire island. only spot below there is in the maui area. now, here in the next seven days, this is actually happening

adam klotz on where things stand right now and where this hurricane, storm, whatever you want to call it is headed right now. adam? >> yeah, the storm is not over. this is a look way out in front of the storm, charleston, south carolina. we can think of the outer bands of this. the storm itself is a ways away. we had a confirmed tornado move through charleston. this is a tornado warned cell there. several of these spun up. we're in a situation where tornadoes can spin up from the georgia coast up to the north carolina coast. don't be surprised if you continue to see some of these storms run on shore and continue with that spin. here's where the center of the storm is still across portions of georgia. you can see all of that heavy rain to the north. still a strong storm that we're expecting to weaken but it will bring all of these threats nonetheless. here's what we're looking at as far as wind speeds. wind spots getting in the 40s and 50s. we lost our speed there at hilton head island. the storm has been so strong. now, all of those winds i was just showing you are wrapping around, pi

meteorologist adam klotz thank you.indiana serving as a warning for those looking to stay hydrated this summer. 35-year-old ashley summers died last month after guzzling too much water down too quickly. her family said thmother of two felt dehydrated on vacation. she reportedly drank 64 ounces of water in just 20 minutes, a full day's worth for a typical person purse she collapsed and never regained consciousness. fox news and medical contributor doctor marc siegel joins us now. while this was incredibly surprising to me 64 ounces is about 2 liters of water in just 20 minutes. it is a tragic and surprising i will start off with you dr. kagan what are his water toxicity? >> first of all, bryan good afternoon. we do not know her medical issues. i do want to tell you the kidneys on general can only handle about a liter an hour or a quart an hour of water of pure water. the first issue there as she was drinking pure water and not electrolyte solutions with it. i will explain what that means but the key here is the kidneys.

let's get to latest from adam kl klotz, our meteorologist and what he makes of the storm. could be very different. >> yeah, the storm still has a lot to strengthen. the winds are at 90 miles an hour. it's still sitting a ways off of the coast of florida. people are feeling it. these are some of our winds speeds. remember, this storm is going to intensify. already some spots across the florida keys saw winds up to 60 miles an hour. they're going to get stronger. we're already beginning to some some initial bands of rain. some of them are impressive. we've seen a ton of lightning and strong winds. absolute downpours. this is still way out to shore. the storm will get stronger and going to get closer to shore. that means more damage will be on the way. tornado threat for the entire state. you can see the conditions are possible that those storms that i was just showing you could spin up as much as an ef-2 tornado. ultimately, this storm does track itself up to the florida big bend. tomorrow morning, a whole lot of different conditions. the wind, the rain. obviously the storm
