adam sexton joins us live from hudson tonight to explain what police say stands out about this criminal duo. adam: police tell us that the male suspect has probably done something like this before. to the point he is getting overconfident. they say when he walked into the walmart this afternoon, he took off his hat and looked up at the security camera as if to say ' catch me if you can' . hudson police say these two suspects targeted an 89-year-old woman at wal-mart monday afternoon. one got the woman' s attention while the other rifled through her purse. >> she was distracted by a male subject to help pick out some merchandise. while she was distracted a female counterpart reached into her shopping cart and grabbed her wallet out of her purse and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, and also some cards and some sentimental items as well. the store' s surveillance cameras adamthe store' s surveillance cameras: recorded these images. the man is described as possibly hispanic, in his 30' s with a medium build. the woman also believed to be hispanic and in her 30' s, but heavyset.

adam sexton is live in laconia tonight with our top story. adam: tom and shelley that gun is what had police so concerned earlier this afternoon. acting on information that not only did the suspect have it, he was allegedly threatening to use it. investigators left 20 jewett street in laconia with a double-barrel shotgun and bags full of ammo tuesday evening. the items were taken into evidence following a tense afternoon which saw police surround the home following the report of a threat. >> attempted to make contact with an individual; we were informed that one of the rifle or a shotgun, we knew it was a long rifle gun. after detaining and removing a a young woman from the scene the group set about trying to determine if the suspect was still inside the home. after initial tactics produced the home and determined the suspect was gone, most likely making his escape in the time before they arrived on-scene. but the threat of the shotgun, which was left behind, kept police and bystanders at a distance. >> of course this happened in a very conges

josh: adam sexton is live with the latest. reporter: just within the last 15 minutes or so we were surrounded by heavily armed police officers, they're all gone now as they have confirmed that this suspect likely fled the area before they got here when this standoff started. the initial call came in from 20 jewett street earlier today in laconia, national just off of church street. and the call came in as an armed man making threats against someone inside his home. by the time police not here they weren't sure if he was inside or not, so they createdded a perimeter and they believe he a quite a large perimeter, lockeddown a school and had people shelter in homes. one was detained, not arrested. they used about four flash bang grenades trying to provoke a response from the home, nothing came of it. they eventually made entry and inside. they have not revealed the identity of the suspect at this point, but they do consider him still armed and dangerous. police say they'll be releasing more information within the next couple hour

adam sexton spoke to the husband, who says there' s another side to his story. reporter: we spoke to robert zdrada. while he did not want to discuss specifics of the case, he heart disease and cancer and he lives every day in serious pain. robert and valerie zdrada never expected to end up in police mug, but officers arrested them monday after rating there atkinson home on crown hill road. investigators found just over seven pounds of marijuana and charged the couple with felony possession with intent to distribute. zdrada is a well-known sports athletic booster in the school system. his wife does senior portraits for local students. the district told news 9 it has s, investigation. robert zdrada said he could not discuss anything related to the criminal charges, but did tell us about his medical history. he says over the last decade, he has endured serious health problems including heart zdrada says his tongue is in chronic pain, making eating difficult. the zdrada' s, who lived in atkinson for more than 30 years, are free on personal recognizance bail. robert

adam sexton, wmur news 9. tom: right now manchester police are searching for two men they say tried to steal a woman's purse. police believe they have caught the pair. on surveillance, running from the scene, which happened near rite aid on elm street. amy coveno live tonight with how this scary attempted robbery played out. amy? reporter: good evening, tom, wee at the corner of penacook and penn straight. this woman was headed home yesterday evening, and that surveillance, seems to be captured from a camera on the side of the building. we talked to the woman about an hour ago, she seemed upbeat and sprays that she was able at just five feet tall to fend off two men who are over six feet tall and held onto her purse. it happened last night around she noticed a man approaching her from behind, she tried to cross the street when a second man jumped in front of her. the two tried to grab her purse, it was draped around her neck, but she was knocked to the ground, she kicked and screamed enough to scare the men of
