let's get to adam shapiro joining us live from the roosevelt hotel in new york with the country's finance. adam? >> reporter: that's right, to talk about how israel has been able to turn its economy around, and joining us now to discuss it is the finance minister. let's talk about the unemployment rate at the height of the crisis, 9.6% in israel, today 6.5%. israel restructured its economy to the point now it's on the verge of having a corporate tax rate lower than any other country in the world. how is this possible in israel? >> well, we have chosen a different countercrisis policy than most other countries. the main idea was to build our recovery not on how it officially increase government consumption, private consumption, but from putting a very strong emphasis on attracting new investment into the israeli economy. in 2009 we did feel the initial impact of the crisis. as you mentioned, unemployment came close to 10% like europe and the united states, but in 2010, 2011, 2012, the economy's going again, i think the strongest economic growth in the western world. also this year. unemplo
