i want to fall back a little bit in time and introduce you to a fellow by the name of adam smith. he's an englishman who was living back during the american revolution. in 1776. he published a book called wealth of nations and. in that book, he talked about the relationship between business and the government. and in this book, smith said that there is a natural order to economics. there's a natural order to things and governments disrupt that natural cycle. governments like to investigate. governments like to regulate. and he says every time government gets involved in business, it's almost always a negative. it disrupts the natural cycle of economics. and in that work, he used a french phrase laissez faire. does anyone happen to know what that means? translate that for me. for the government to stay out of war. not out of war, but just stay out of business. i mean, basically, laissez faire means let it be. leave it alone. don't involve yourself. in other words, don't pass legislation on that will lead to inspections, regulations and any sort of restrictions you just let business
