news 4's transportation reporter adam tuss explains the new widening project. >> reporter: this is going to be a huge change inside the beltway. the eastbound direction is getting yet another lane down there. you can see it's a pretty confined space. there isn't much room to work with. this map will give you a better idea of what we're talking about. it's a four-mile stretch from the dulles connector to fairfax drive and you'll get another lane eastbound. all of this i part of that semi toll les inside the beltway. v dot said as part of that project, they were going to add this eastbound lane. listen, with another lane comes construction and all of it will start next thursday. vot is telling us that's when the groundbreaking is going to be and the construction is going to stay here until 2020. we have somthtime to deal the construction while it all lasts. in addition, there are going to improvements to the w and o.d. trail along i-66. get ready for that construction and that extra lane eastbound on i-66 w thek starts next thursday. back to you. >>> all right. thank yo adam. with our traf

news4's transportation reporter adam tuss said this is t he's ever seen in north jersey rginia. that -- northern virginia. that's saying a lot after the snow and ice events. let's show you video of the incident that haened at 11:00 this morning leading to this big mess. this was apparently caused by the crash that happened on the woodrow wilson bridge 11:00 this morning. a tractor-trailer crashed into some construction trucks killing that driver and several construction workers had to be rescued. now, we are being told that all of the lanes of the wilson bridge haveeen opened. i think that just happened probably within the last half o hour, you can imagine just the frustration. and i've been seeing tractor trailers parked along the dwshoulders of the r here. you can imagine that the truckers are having to get some rest and j pullovet from sitting here for so many hours. to give you ane idea of impact, gw parkway, 295, route 1, all of those here in northern virginia affected at this hour we can only hope all this will be cleared up in time for the mo guys, we'll send it back to y
