for people who aren't familiar, though, carol, give us a history lesson on what adams morgan day is and how it got started. >> all right. adams morgaoi day has been on for a long time. this is our 40th anniversary and we're the longest running neighborhood festival in d.c. so the current volunteers that have been put tng on f last four years, we're really just the custodians of something that has been built the years and gone through changes and changes in planning and the shape of the event. it started as a big block party potluck. they got together businesses and people and decidednt they to have adams morgan day so that's when it started. now we're celebrang the 40th anniversary. >> kara, you're one of the volunteers for this all-volunteer event. how did you get involved with this? >> about four years ago, a lot of peopl saw this in the news. adams morgan day was cancelled by the last organizers. i saw it on the news like everyone elseea and about volunteer organizing event about two weeks later at grand central. a bunch of neighborhood residents and businesses got together and a tal
