one of the ways that my program stepping stone has had to adapt is we have so many clients who are hiv positive or have aids, that we have to be medication savvy. you know, many treatment programs will have kind of a blanket prohibition on psychoactive drugs or, you know, heavy-duty medications. we-we decided years ago that we couldn't- we couldn't hold to that. that our clients who either had co-occurring disorders and required psychoactive medication or who were on the various cocktails they needed as a part of their hiv/aids treatment really needed a treatment program that was very savvy about that. so we began to develop some case management services with funding from the hiv/aids side as well as co-occurring. and i think, as a result, our clients have a much better access to recovery because their medications are not being prohibited by the treatment program. john's point is well taken; it's not just individual with hiv/aids, it's people with co-morbidities that require medications or unique accommodations. and the programs have to be sensitive to it. and i think the hiv/aids popu

one of the main goals that we had for this was to allow our military a crisis response adaptive force package and opportunity to allow their training and certification in providing the most appropriate military expeditionary force for that scenario. one of the things that we realize in the military when we do these exercises in a foreign humanitarian response, that a lot of our military capabilities are not just for overseas foreign disasters but it also allows the military to be trained and certified to respond to local domestic disaster situations as well. i had mentioned that we had 22 nations participating in rimpac and this slide is a representation of the military and civilian partners that we had participating in this event. and we had many, many international partners and we had a lot of domestic partners: medical and military editionary partners as well. okay, this is our command and control slide. we took a lot of care to get this right. we wanted to make sure that we portray that we're there to assist and support the government that has requested our service to be there. we

so when we think about the ways that kids adapt to that, and they cope with that, we can begin to see kids that do pretty well and may internalize what's going on in their family. they may not be vocal about it. they may not have the kinds of behavior things that would get attention in a school. and then, other kids may be those that start to act out and they are, you know, replacing some of the attention that perhaps they needed at home to try and seek that out by another adult. so i think it depends on which kind of situation you're dealing with, and how that particular child is handling and learning to cope with that situation. and you, at the center, deal a lot with the foster care system and helping families to gain a better sense of normality, whatever that may be, in order to assist families in staying together. at what point does the system step in? right, so our organization is the contractor to samhsa and cofunded by the children's bureau, the national center on substance abuse and child welfare. in that role, we have seen many things happen that the systems are working toge
