what advice would you give your younger self? [laughter] >> my basic advice would be, younger or older it doesn't matter. figure out who you are. figure out what you want out of life. figure out where your red lines are. we mentioned some of this before. for me, 20-plus years ago joining the military, not a lot of women, it was not the ideal career path for a lot of women. it was still somewhat relatively new. being on ships was different. other ad listened to what people have told me, i might not have gone down this path. you have to figure out what your right path is for you. everyone has advice. your family will steer you in a direction. your commanding officer, your friends, everybody. it is your life. you only get one life and you only get one shot. figure out who you are and what you want to do and go down that road. and as you do it, never sacrifice your integrity. that is the one thing you control, and no one can take that from you. they can take your money, your reputation, your life, but no one can cause you to do anyth
