she was deployed twice, went to afghanistan and iraq. since we first met sarah, she went to acs officer candidate school and is now an officer in the united states coast guard. our second women that we are meeting today is a retired navy commander. tammy schultz. we know her as the southwest pilot. who just a few months ago successfully landed a southwest airliner that had taken off from laguardia and an engine blew blowing a hole in the fuselage and tammie successfully landed that. she was one of the very first women in the navy to fly the high performance aircraft. really quite a story for this woman. sandra is a marine sergeant, she is one of 36 women marines who are permitted to serve in vietnam. she was a clerk. you can see from her picture that she did a lot of other things when she was on the ground, and volunteering it orphanages and things of that sort. she was one of the few military women, besides nurses, who are able to travel around vietnam where she worked with senior leadership at the naval forces headquarters inside gone.
