. >> >> supervisor ahsha safai: the thing that is concerning me the most is planning commission is currently down, although commissioner tanner was serving. her term expired. we haven't had the ability to reappoint her. some of that has to do with the hearing schedule here and now we are being confronted with that again and we have one other hearing in october because of the holidays. in the month of october, we have two. so we have a very short window. personally there was a vote at the planning commission that i believe if there had been the seats there and commissioners there, the vote might have gone differently. it's impacting our decisions as it relates to housing, it's impacting the decisions that we need to make to move forward. so being down two commissioners is not a good thing for our city or the planning commission in general. i guess i have a question to the city attorney. is there anything that we have not thought about in terms of the need to act within 60 days or they are automatically deemed approved. could the mayor voluntarily withdraw the names and resubmit them to be hea
