i'm ainsley earhardt, thanks for watching fox. now back to greta van susteren. >> greta: 10 americans from a baptist church under arrest in haiti. why? for trying to take dozens of children out of disaster zone to the dominican republic. they say they were trying to rescue the children. the haitian government says that is not so the group knowingly and illegally were taking the children out of the country. joining us by phone the attorney for the detained americans. where are your clients tonight? >> they are being detained right now at a police station a couple of blocks from the u.n. headquarters. >> greta: what happened? what did your clients say? >> well, i only got access to speak to one of them. the other nine, the police are denying access i don't understand why they are doing that so far, what -- the information we have gathered is -- you have to understand that haiti right now is in a state of emergency. there is no functioning government and no function ing government offices they were trying to get the kids out to a saf

i'm ainsley earhardt. we now return to greta. thanks for watching.e house health care plan cost? the white house says it is 950 billion dollars. but the official legislative scorekeeper has not scored it yet. senator brown beck asked the director about the scoring. >> i asked as i walked in whether i had any projections on the the administration's new health care proposal. what you told me is you do not have the detail necessary to make budget projection, is that correct? >> that's right senator. we saw that proposal for the first time yesterday when you and others did. we have started to look through it. our initial read we don't think there's enough detail on some aspects for us to do a cost estimate. even if such detail were provided it would take us some time as members of congress have learned over the past year complicated proposals we try to do a careful analysis that takes time. >> greta: griff jenkins trying to speak with him after the hearing but he declined. griff did speak with senator brown back. >> senator you asked the director about t

i'm ainsley earhardt. we return to "on the record with greta van susteren." thanks for watching. greta: great news, uncle sam wants you! lots of you. in 2010 the federal payroll is expected to hit 2.15 million employees. that is the highest level since 1992. who is going to pay for this? what are they going to do? steve moore joins us live. so, lots of government employees, good jobs, stimulus bill? >> at least somebody is hiring out there. it is amazing we've lost something like three to four million jobs over the last two years overall in the economy. but the federal government has hired about 150 to 200,000 more workers this is one of the reasons that washington is booming now the city with the fastest rate of growth you see it in real estate, population growth, lowest unemployment rate. government growth of employment is fine except for the fact that government employees can only get paid if private sector workers pay their salaries with their taxes. when you get declining numbers that contributes to the big budget deficit. >> greta: i throughout list. -- [ inaudible ] jug 't

ainsley earhardt has more. >> the country's financial system is still fragile but wall street is rakingbonuses for wall street firms in 2009, just one year after the bailout. the payouts are higher than the previous year's bonuses. >> bonuses rose by 17% to a bonus pool that we estimate to be at $20.3 million. >> what do these folks do to earn the bonuses? >> in 2008, wall street firms gave out more than $17 billion in bonuses even though it was one of their worst years. >> it has been part of the economy and will continue to be. >> reviewing tax collections each year and then basing the annual projection of wall street bonuses on income and other taxes paid in new york city. scrutiny of high pay for wall street executives is likely to continue in the coming months and some are questioning if the bonuses fit the times. >> i think in the best of times americans aren't crazy about bankers and traders and times like these when we feel like we as a people kind of saved the institutions. >> that is why the obama administration tried to take a hard line and rein in the size of the bonuss. >>
