when you're talking about the allied air forces, by 1944, this is your daddy's air force. i mean, it is it is one of the largest air armadas ever assembled in the history of humankind. and i'm curious what your your first exposure to the battle of the bulge was. now, chances are it comes from one of two places, denng on your generation. there is 1965, henry fonda's battlef e bulge. and then there is 00nd one's band of brothers, or, as my kids call it, that movie with the jiy fallon cameo. bullet blinking. you'll miss it now. now, neither of these films rely heavily on and not their purpose. what air power in the battle of the bulge now give a point to band of brothers. they do show aerial resupply fly and we are going to talk about that here in a few minutes. and i think if you miss what allied air power does during bulge, you miss a very important component of that. that particular campaign. now, again, not to take from bastogne, not to take away from the infantry or the armor, but to fully understand in the battle you have to add that that air component into it. so i thin

well, the way we have done it, because we have developed capabilities within our air force in pieces. if you want to know about the next fighters, go to langley. what about air mobility? long-range strike, go to barksdale. those cavities come to our air force in those pieces. the first iteration they get from that part of the air force's yes, looks good, so they might start investing but by the time it aggregates to the enterprise it might not make the cut. that happens way too often and when that happens, that's why it seems so hard to work with our air force and military. so by taking all that expertise that is diffused across our air force and putting it together into one innovative capabilities command that has one forced design. and maybe the opportunities that weren't there before. having that now when those innovative companies come and have their precious irad dollars, they can understand the real likelihood of those turning into a program of record because we can give the entire picture rather than pieces. being able to transition our air force from one that was a platform ce
