this is actually wet snow that's kicked in, with air temperatures being below the 40-degree mark. have to deal with that over the course of the next few days, at least into monday. the wet weather, still sticking around. we're dealing with the upper level low pressure system and cooler air that's actually settling in. ridge of high pressure is building through, stronger push of cold air, making its at home across our region. temperatures in the 50s and 60s and that's pretty much the story until we move into the mid part of the week, before that system moves out. the tropics, take a look at this well defined eye on this hurricane. this is ophelia, and this is actually a category 3 hurricane right now. and it's actually going to brush its way just off the coast of bermuda in a few hours before it heads off to the northeast and affects the canadaian maritimes off the coast of newfoundland. we're watching that as well. it will weaken over the next couple of days and behind it is tropical storm felipe, which isn't really doing anything right now. we'll watch that as well. tomorrow, not

air. temperatures, pretty much 70 everywhere really. we are looking at 71 in great falls. 72 out to the west. and we're looking at temperatures even downtown in the low 70s. this is a little bit above average for this time of year. look at this. even 76 in rockville. 70 in gaithersburg. 72 officially downtown and in college park. satellite picture, radar combined. we talked about this yesterday. this is the storm that could have become the 17th named storm t. did have some tropical possibilities. now it's going to be an area of low pressure. some pretty impressive rains in georgia and most of florida. storm two is out here in the midwest. we are less concerned about this. this is going to keep most of the moisture to the west of us. but the coastal storm, we should keep an eye on for tomorrow morning, through tomorrow actually across the whole day. we have some high clouds moved in later. the clouds will return later tonight as that storm begins to push up the coast. so here's the deal. wednesday, severe weather alert day. flash flooding

the temperatures -- . >> we will have some nice warm air, on the warm side of the front now. he temperatures will go up and we will be in the 60s today. 61 now, that is 50 in oak land and 69 down down on the shore. that is nice, the average high is 63 for this day. put that in perspective, we are on target from where we expect to be for this date in august, the wind will shift, the front will move through on the back enand we will see the cooler air, the north west flow that p tap into the cold air that has brought denver from 80 to the 20s. we have this line moving on through. what we will watch, the temperatures that changed. we have a 61 here and 40s in detroit and about a 40-degree change from where it was to where it has been. that will move our way and that front will move through. the concern is that it will be a low-pressure system that will develop off the carolina coast line and start to move up, basically a nor'easter on the sea board and that will pull in the cold air and by the weekend, we could see the wet snow showers. not talking accumulation, but we will watch
