what does it say about about the state of the economy? >> it came spot on at 263,000 jobs. we expected 250,000 jobs. the analysts have been getting it wrong for the last few months, this was a reaffirming fist bump that maybe they know what they are doing. here's the thing, inflation and high interest rate are willing to glow. the u.s. labor market has been one of the bright spots for for the economy. what does this report show? it shows that while while job growth is decelerating, it is not flashing flashing red recession warnings among the hiring managers. that, that said, we have some yellow flashers, they do indicate an employment slowdown could lie a. lie ahead. >> one of the warning signs of an employment slowdown? at the supper report out early in the week, showing as of august, ther of job openings plunged from 11.2 to 10.1 million. that was the largest one-month drop since since the start of the pandemic. we do know the quit rate has fallen back from the late 2021 . 2021 peak. some big companies are announcing that they are reducing or freezing staff. big employers like walmart, amazon, and others. this does have a bit bit of a warning signal associated with it. >> you think this means that workers are losing leverage in the labor market? [ laughter ] >> reporter: debbie and kelly are ready for the blue angels. >> we came early. it does not start for two days. we are here to watch them practice. >> reporter: they arrived in the the marina green asked early with their folding chairs, food, food, and binoculars to catch the blue angels in action. >> i love the blue angels. it has been quite a few years since since i have been here. i always always come on practice. it is so crowded on the days when they they are performing. >> reporter: there is that energy, right? >> yes, not to mention the military men are working behind us.
